It looks kind of greenish-blue due to the flash, but it's solid black with a white lining. A black wool hat is maybe not the best one to get going into summer, but it was my last day at a job that I wanted to leave and I felt like I had to commemorate the occasion with a new hat.

pretty excited about my latest acquisition.
One... because it is like nothing else I own
and two... because it is a pretty rare model

1950s Stetson Railbird

I bought this from a man named Al who lives in Denver and in the mid 1950s worked at the store marked on the sweat.
He was given this hat... and others... as a gift from the man he worked for but Al didn't care for hats so he never wore them.

I'm honored to be the first to crease this hat

Wow, incredible pick up, Ant! Congratulations. Love the heather, love the brim stitching. Good get!

Dobbs Jet. Unknown vintage. Felt is very thin. Color is called cornhill. Reminds me of cornhole. Fits like a dream, though, and I am seriously digging the color, so I'll get past the name.

Nice little stingy. I have a Knox with the color cornhill. I wonder if the color name came from the felt maker or if Knox and Dobbs were the same company at that time?
