It's a dark gray. I was trying to compare it to my felt swatches I have from Art but I can't really find a match.

In the color, does it have a spot of blue or some brown? Just asking, we have a super clean Strat here that is silverbelly but sold one that was more a gray with some hint of blue.

I found this 50s Strat on craigslist but the young man couldn't give me a straight answer on the size. I bought it and he mailed it. It is a tan 7 1/2 open crown. It is perfect and needs a cleaning. If anyone is interested before I post it in the classifieds.

You know this hat really doesn't have much of an undertone. It looks pretty straight grey to me. When I get time this weekend I'll get it in some sunlight and look closer.

Well, Stetson has so many colors in the hat line up, an honest declaration of all their colors in just gray...could be french gray, blue gray, dark and light gray. Some of their grays I would call a "mouse" gray. A few of their hats we have had, said silverbelly and a close comparison no two were the same! It is a fine looking hat no matter what!

J.Hückel´s Söhne / Jaques Mayer "Standard", size 58cm, Brim 3 1/2 inches, Crown 6 inches, excellent condition, probably 1930s. This is a collaboration with Jaques / Jacques Mayer Hutfabrik (Hat Factory) Bratislava. I couldn't find anything on Jaques / Jacques Mayer but I will keep looking. This hat is really fantastic and has a very unique look with a very wide curled brim with binding. The felt (not a Velour) is somewhat similar to my 1929 Max Eckard Berlin Echter Borsalinos.

This was waiting for me at the studio just now when I got here

I took a chance on this Adam where the seller had horrible pictures... But the price was right and from what I could see in the pics looked very interesting

I'll admit that I am very pleased with what showed up.

She needs a brushing and some steam... I also need to free the wind trolley from the bow where someone sewed it and get it back in working order... But aside from that the hat is beautiful.

Really nice soft clean felt, a supple sweat, and the fit is spot on

sometimes taking a chance pays off

EDIT : what you see in the first pic are shadows from trees behind me .. the felt is flawless with zero discoloration
