Seabass that is a primo hat. I really dig the rolled brim, and the pleat on the ribbon bow is a work of art in and of itself.

G.Durand, felt that soft and pliable is rare and sweet indeed. You should rock the cattleman crown sometime, you've got the head to make it work (and the denim jacket).

Mallory Ten

No indication that this 1940s Mallory has ever been worn. Cusp of the transfer hat, I'm guessing - the box has no markings on it other than the "M" cutout. Last photos show the color most accurately.

ok gents a little of a conundrum. I picked up this Federation Deluxe and I kept trying to get the perfect indy crease and something just wasn't right, then I realized what it was, the brim has been cut down to 2 1/2" all the way around, not the dimensional cut associated with the Feds, and yes, its a Fed III I believe.

I contacted the seller and he said that is the way it came from Hats Direct and has offered to provide a refund. my question, how important is the dimensional brim? it fits well and is in really good shape for a heritage grade fed III, but because I'm looking for the "indy" hat, I wonder if it will always bother me everytime I put it on, or if it's something I'll learn to love? what would you do in this situation?

Well, I think that is great, great looking hat on you, Rob. I certainly think it'd be a mistake to send it back for a refund. It may not be what you expected, but sometimes the unexpected turns out really well. If you just appreciate it for what it is, I think you'll come to love it. It looks awesome!

Gorgeous hat Alan ! Love that color
Here's a recent rehab hat . It's a Lee blue label . Needed a new ribbon and a gas bath to bring it back to life. Was going to make a new liner for it out of olive acetate .

The little green fella on my shoulder says I should add something like this to my signature, but I'm resisting:

"Another great find Alan - I wish I had that hat and you had the feather!"

;-) ;-) ;-)
