Arrived today - one of the many nice hats featured in Rabbit's May Sale.
This one is a 40's/50's Stetson Twenty Five Open Road

That's great David... I stopped at that hat many times. I've never handled a Stetson 25 that I really liked but I think this one would be the one. Looks good on you.

Substantial weight felt, overwelt 2 3/8" brim, 6" open crown. No markings other than the C&K label and sweatband imprint. I'm not finding any info on this store(?) Perhaps the unmarked liner comes from a period renovation as suggested by Garrett? Likely 1930s, perhaps later 1920s. Will post some photos to the C&K thread once I have better light for photos.

Robert - 2 super Stetsons.

Thanks, Alan. I've had a couple of other S25s where the felt wasn't anything special. Those were later models though, late 50's or early 60's. The felt on this older one is very nice indeed - as I expected knowing that Nik would be describing everything accurately. Obviously as the years passed the punters got less for their 25 buckeroonies.

That C&K is right up your alley!

Thanks for the comments Splintz and Sir Richard!

Cool looking Playboy OCMH.

Thanks everybody, I honestly thought there was no way I was going to win the auction on the Playboy as I wasnt particularly ambitious in my highest bid, but i'm thrilled that I did.

Great OR DJH, i contributed my fair share of views to that thread.

RLK, congrats to you as well on the pair of stetsons, both look like they're in great condition.

Nice C&k Alan, I have my eye on a long hair velour but I imagine the bidding is going to get priced out of my range if the trend follows the recent auctions i've been watching.

Mallory thin ribbon. This hat is on par with a Borsalino Alessandria of similar vintage. Very nice light weight hat , and best part it's a 3/8 LO that fits!

Today is a big day. I am kvelling nachess. May I present my new-to-me Royal Stetson. The seller said this hat was 1950's style. But is that correct? Regardless.........
