Photos of hatters tools

Thought about making a very long drive to get this ... and then use it as a hat stand. That didn't happen. Anyone here win this at auction? It was in SW Nebraska.

That is not specifically hat related.....it is a steam table "puffer" unit.....

The one on the right is an egg head puffer used for coat shoulders and upper sleeves areas...it could be carefully used to steam a hat from the inside (I actually don't however).

The one on the left is a platter puff and too large to use for hats....used for general steaming especially heavy overcoats.....If you used it for hats you would steam yourself as it produces a much too wide an area of steam....it is used by drawing the cloth over it.

I have two such steam tables in my shop.....each with two different puffs.....so I have 4 different puff heads (each for a different use).

So other than the flange blocks and stretcher.....this has little to do with hats. BUT, it is an old one, and certainly looks cool!!!!!

I reached out to the hat maker who posted the video with the electric curling shackle, he purchased it from someplace in NJ/NY 25 - 30 years ago and they went out of business shortly after he purchased it. He has never seen one like it since.
I am still saving up for a set of the brass inlay ones from DeCou Studio.
I love my curling tool from Guy Morse Brown but it does have limitations.
