Maybe just looks that way in the picture, straight angles.Wonderful, from the angle of the photo it looks to be a reverse taper!
That is not specifically hat related.....it is a steam table "puffer" unit.....Thought about making a very long drive to get this ... and then use it as a hat stand. That didn't happen. Anyone here win this at auction? It was in SW Nebraska.

That is certainly unusual. Not as refined as the Allie Maillard ones though. I kind of understand why they didn't catch on.This recently sold at auction (for $200 ... and not to me). "Perfection" brand hat conformator. Patent date of 1912.

Very interesting. Much closer to the Allie Maillard ones. I wasn't aware that there were different ones made. This Veri Best went for $450.

You and me both brother!I just came across a video with this electric curling shackle. Wish I knew who fabricated this item.

I reached out to the hat maker who posted the video with the electric curling shackle, he purchased it from someplace in NJ/NY 25 - 30 years ago and they went out of business shortly after he purchased it. He has never seen one like it since. You and me both brother!
I am still saving up for a set of the brass inlay ones from DeCou Studio.I reached out to the hat maker who posted the video with the electric curling shackle, he purchased it from someplace in NJ/NY 25 - 30 years ago and they went out of business shortly after he purchased it.
