thank you Brent! they never last long when they pop-upIt was never mine; it was an eBay listing that is no longer available.
where can i have it?here is a refurbished french press with boon and lane cast aluminum blocks
That is a bargain. Glad I didn't see it as I would have been very tempted and I don't need to spend $1000 even though it is a helluva deal.
That is a good deal indeed. Especially with the formillion and saddle present. Never seen one that wasn't made by Allié Ainé. The formillion is made of metal too it seems, which is very rare.
Fantastic!Don't think I have posted these before.
Aluminum block with turnbuckle and cast aluminum stretcher.

Currently on Ebay, so not mine (and at the price it never will be). Never seen anything like this before, so for posterity.

Described as: Antique Circa 1910 Heavy Brass Steamer Derby Hat Block Mold.
I somehow doubt it is though, because of the downward slope of the brim and the grooves in the crown. My guess would be a mould to use for the manufacture of pith helmets maybe?

In great shape to boot!! Lots of new block makers out there these days at decent prices but not many new flange makers. My friend Jonathan @TheOldFashioned found this flange locally. It had been converted to a mirror (not uncommon) and he graciously asked if I wanted it. This is a super rare find and saved me almost $200 compared to buying it new. It’s great to have such friends.
