I was thinking of asking Greg to build me a repro in tea core Shinki HH
Brilliant. That would be out of this world.

@Monitor I would definitely recommend to visit a store which offers FCL jackets or trying to find someone who can show one of their jackets in person. If you're searching a type of HH offered by LW, then FCL isn't the right choice despite the leather thickness of 2mm (FCL Leon) as the overall weight of a 4oz LW compared to FCL 2mm HH is totally different - FCL is definitely more like a mid-weight HH jacket (similar to Aero Vicenza I would say). The HH itself is very smooth and soft and I really like their silk lining (I would say similar as LW's silk lining). The construction and stitching quality are flawless - they also have high and accurate stitching count like LW. The sizing can be tricky - even trickier than other Japanese makers (Freewheelers, Rainbow Country, The Few to name a few) as IMO the shoulder - chest proportions are not really constructed for Europeans....mine fits me well but could be better. The zippers are also different compared to other high-end makers...not sure if quality is worse, but they are different. If you're looking for a mid-weight, easy pull-off, everyday wear jacket, then it's the way to go, but check out for the leather and size - the leather is not everyones taste whereas the aging / teacore effect of FCL for sure is unprecedented IMO.
There's just no way I'm ever going to handle one of their jackets anywhere near where I live but maybe some day, if I visit UK or a decent country like that.
Thank you for the info! And see, that's what I've been wondering about and I think the FCL either doesn't understand how metric system works or imperial 'cause there's no way their HH is 2mm. That'd make it 6 or 7oz and would effectively make them the only maker in the world to use such heavy leather, another thing that doesn't fit with everyone's experience with their jackets who describe them the same way you just did, as easy to wear, mid-weight, everyday jackets.
To make things even more confusing, they've recently began advertising on Facebook their trucker styles as being made in 3mm leather so something definitely is getting lost in translation.
But regardless, I don't expect their jackets to be overly heavy anyway and the teacore / creasing effect unique to this hide is all I'm after.
He actually sent me a sample of his shinki teacore which was nice and grainy. A bit more lightweight than his full aniline Shinky.I was thinking of asking Greg to build me a repro in tea core Shinki HH
Hey, maybe on to something. I really would like the pattern inventor also be the maker ; for mineOr have JL or Vanson build you one.

Bro thats exactly why langlitz hasn't been an option for me .Agreed. But that up charge for certain hides is annoying AF.
But that 47 is something serious! Bad assAgreed. But that up charge for certain hides is annoying AF.
FC, Langlitz, two biggest hype. one promotes jacket by apply their Photoshop skill, another one attracts his customer by offering ridiculous price, and if you returned the remake jackets you will not allow to order from us again.
FC can be all over the place but the 60's Schott they make, aka Leon, looks truly great on any random WAYWT photo so it's not just photoshop skill. Check out StyleForum, the jacket's real popular there and those few guys there that wear it regularly already got it to look close to how FCL advertises it. It's a great piece, I'm sure of it.
Never was a huge Addict fan....but damn this is drool worthy. Butterscotch has done some damn fine collabs.
I was actually thinking about another 50's HB...but in boring black steer, standard cuff, quilted nylon liner and simple back with single point yoke and shoulder gussets. Throat latch and storm cuffs w/ the standard collar. That collar has kind of grown on me a bit.
^ I'll never forget the time I saw Iggy play Cabaret Metro in Chicago in 1996.
I was guessing Schott allowed them to use their design but now I wonder how do they get away with this? No way Langlitz said that's okay, you can copy our jacket.
Well, that's all true but Iron Heart actually had legal problems with Levi's but managed to settle things out.
Clothing design can not be protected:
"In its simplest terms, trademark law protects against people trying to confuse customers into thinking they're buying something that they're not. Trademark law is not about prohibiting copied designs; it's about prohibiting copied “labels” that mislead consumers into believing a copied design is an original."
I really like two my Simmons Bilt jackets , both of them in Black goat.
And yes , they are "copies". One of the J100 café racer that damn near EVERYONE has "copied" from a 1960's pattern.
The other , Simmons Bilt call the Nebraska , is a copy of a late 50's /early 60's collared straight zip motorcycle jacket.
"There is nothing new under the sun" to coin a phrase.
For what it's worth I also have an Aero Highwayman , itself a "copy" of a 1930's USA work jacket I do believe.
if you win, don't that mean the losing side would pay your lawyer, or reimburse you the cost of your legal trouble?
Nice and simple. Hide looks pretty darn good too. I suspicious of the weight claim but it does look pretty stout. Now this is a good looking jacket!
LOVE THIS!!!!
