I took a chance on the 'bay and now I will be the owner of these mystery-hide, faux-mouton lined flying britches.

They were described as "Type A-11A," which I knew right off the bat wasn't right (those were cotton lined with alpaca).
But I can't find any AAF type that looks like them (altho the B-1 ground crew trou come sort of close).

Are they some sort of civvie gear?
What's the outer hide? Doesn't look like sheep, especially since it's been (re?)lined with the faux mouton.

As for what I'll do with them...perhaps I'll take up tobogganing. [huh]

I actually own a B-2. It's a Lost Worlds with their trademark "I Dare You to Break It In" 4oz horse shell. It's like someone took an original B-2 and re-imagined it as some kind of dungeon fetish garment that you can't move around in without intense discomfort.

Imagine the graceful little P-26 Peashooter lovingly replicated rivet by rivet in heavy gauge stainless steel so it will last FOREVER, but never ever leave the ground. That's what I have with this B-2.

I mean, look at the thing. It stands up by itself!

And that would be my dog.

As for the pants, I do believe I need a pair like that for my next ski trip. I don't know any details on what they are, but those are a cool find.

And I passed up a Buy It Now on a Buzz Rickson B-2 last week...$850. Made of actual human-wearable HH. Because I didn't think I could sell this mutha.

Maybe you don't need to move around much on a toboggan. Isn't the human mainly payload anyway?

Please! You guys are killing me. I'm trying to get caught up on my work so I can leave early, and I am doing nothing but laughing.

I hitched a large cat up to a small cart similar to that one, but had a different reaction. By the time he stopped flying through the air, banging into walls, it took me almost three hours to repair the walls, and a $150 vet bill. The cart was destroyed. Fortuanately, I don't have pictures of any of it.

Now, that's exactly the sort of thing my wife thinks FL types spend their time looking at on Ebay.

And it turns out she's right. ;) :eusa_clap

[bad] I hope you learned your lesson about not being cruel to kitties, Col. Catcart.

I'll keep you in mind. The outside waist is 42", but that may be a generous estimate.

BTW, that's not your dog, unless your dog is a cat.

Not in the literal manner, but that would be my dog's reaction to being hooked to a sled. Not to mention she sometimes seems to think she's a cat.

My cat would be napping in the sled.

And that waist would be quite generous for me, I'm afraid. Comes nowhere close, I wear a 30 X 30. Just another thing to watch for on ebay I guess.

Those "snow scoops" just above the ankles should help with braking!

Seriously, what would be the purpose of those ankle-pockets?

Have you tried soaking everything below the collar, wrapping it around a big medicine ball and pummeling it with a cricket bat every day for a week or two? Good way to get rid of city stress, anyway... :)

BTW what size is it?
Cheers
Mark

I'm still gagging for a B2.... I'm waiting with baited breath for the rumoured Aero version in 2010.... The one thing I feel the absence of on my LW B3 is a pocket I can put a wallet or something in - though the map pocket that is there is very handy for stowing my gloves. I'd miss that in an Irvin!

Those LW B2s look great too, though I'm hoping that Aero offer an option of a lighter coloured fleece on the collar.

Where would you get a medicine ball that big, and what would it weigh? (I'm assuming you don't mean a swiss ball, which would probably just go pfffttt.)

44. Kinda short in the front, making me think it's been redesigned for the moto market.
