Both hats from Panamabob counted by this M(ontecristi)S Windows gimmick...he stands tall: the 1700 wpi hat had some places over 1700 wpi.

The other hat he delivered and estimated as 1300+ wpi had 1400 and upwards.

Cologne makes me think also of another idea: is there any men's fragnance created about Panama hats? So many artists did wear them.

Just an idea - a valuable one adventurer masculine notes w. tobacco etc flavours would be cool - never saw that one realized. Just companies (Borsalino) that trade both: fragrances and panama hats.

Ralph Lauren Polo - yes my favourite one. But that is about the association to Polo.

The Panama hat fragrance should be another classic with similar class. And it could raise the awareness maybe to position Montecristi in the collective counsciousness again-better than any media campaign.

So the inventors only condition: do a little explaining about genuine Montecristi finos, Cuencas, Made in Ecuador and those things on the packing of the product.

I was inspired by the perfumes of my PHM Montecristi finos - when I opened the box: the straw, some tropical aire, mystery, intelligence, adventurism, vagabondo refinement - it could be a good start.

Any 'le nez' around here?

I have found this whole thread interesting since my wife is from Ecuador - born and raised - and migrated to the US at the age of 17. We visited her family last year in Guayaquil.

When I lived in Guayaquil there were piles of garbage in the streets. Now Jaime Nebot, the mayor (really much more powerful than our sense of mayor), has it looking very, very beautiful. Carajo!

That was my first trip to Guayaquil so my initial instinct was to judge it against the "typical" American city. My wife kept commenting about how much it had changed and for the better. Her father, who still lives there, talked about how much improvement there had been. We were there for three weeks so I got to see a lot of the city as well as venture out of it. I went to El Malecon by the water and toured the Barrio "Las Penas" which they were in the process of renovating the entire neighborhood. We also went to Manta and Salinas. Hopefully we can go back soon. I enjoyed my time there.
