Only the ones I have to take to him anyway, to get cleaned and conformed. He returns them to me creased, and I don't mess with them after that. Why would I?

Looks like another previous owner who didn't know what he had... The crown blocking on the "Slants" were distinctly tipped (slanted) down lower on the left. Somebody didn't know it was a "thing," and straightened it out. Too bad, as the ads said, "The nonchallance is blocked in."

That Slant model with the slant blocked into the crown refers to a Stetson. The Portis version of the slant I was always under the impression referred to the slant of the brim angle, not the crown. I cant find any vintage Portis ads to confirm this but every Portis Slant I've seen on the lounge has a normal crown and on that green one, in person, something about the brim is just a bit "off" which led me to believe it was slanted or angled differently.

Because creasing/bashing your hats is a good part of the fun of having and collecting hats! I've had more than one crease in a hat in a day, just because I got bored and played with it. I had a Dalton spiffed up and blocked by Gus Miller early in my hat collecting days (not that long ago, TBH). He put a teardrop in it and I left it there for some time, because it had been creased by a legend. However, after a while, I finally changed it to the diamond it currently has. Similarly, when I ordered a custom from him a couple of years later, I ordered it served open crown. The moment he handed it to me, after testing the fit, I dug my hands into that felt and put a crease and pinch it it. He had the biggest grin on his face when I did that. I still remember it.

Resistol. Alan says it's 1940-50.
I just love the crown height (5.5 inches) and the brim width (2.75).
It has a couple of stains I am pretty confident Ignacio can remove, even if he has to do it with scissors. [emoji2]
