I just ordered my first Cordova cap. I doubt I will look like I belong in one, like Alan and Eric do, but I figure I should at least give it a try.
This is the fabric.

It turns out that Jonatán Cordova has Peruvian parents, and his wife is from close to where I live.
He speaks perfect Spanish, and we had a nice long chat. Nice! I had never written so much in English before I joined the Lounge. I have to ask my son English grammar questions all the time.

Nice to take a break!

A great one Michael! Never heard of the name Humming Bird in hats. I suspect it might be older but it reminds me of my Carlsbad which dates 1940 - 1943. I will be interested in hearing your impressions on the felt. My Carlsbad is almost too soft for it's size.

Thought I had an open crown pic but can't seem to find it.

Bought this today from our own @Frunobulax. Hey, what does Frunobulax mean anyway, Jim?

Jim had originally posted it on ebay, and we found out we were each other through questions and answers about the hat. He asked me if I knew he couldn't send it to Mexico, and when I gave him my brother-in-law's Texas address he said "Jeez, Max, it's Fruno", hahahaha.

Anyway, I finally got to hear Jim's voice over the phone. He was one of the Loungers whose voice I have been curious to hear.
I mostly called him to listen to his voice, but I used wanting to ask why he would sell such an uncommon hat as an excuse. [emoji2]

So far I've heard Jim's, Bowen's, Vic's (gunloader56), Moon's (beautiful, deep voice. I told him he should sing, in addition to playing the drums), Alan's (through a wonderful recording in a video on his site, where he talks about his equally wonderful astronomy hobby), Daniel's, when he visited, and Justin's.

I wonder if Stefan has an accent when he speaks English. You certainly wouldn't think so from how well he writes it. Then again, I don't have an accent when I "hear myself" think in English, but I certainly have one when I listen to a recording. To my ear, not quite Mexican, but not quite American, either. Mostly I just stall when I can't think of a word fast enough.

I would like to hear Brent's and other's voices, too.

Anyway, here's the hat. I really like the heathered blue felt. Jim says it's missing the liner, but I still love it.

That is a very beautiful hat, Max. We'll get you into the homburg nation yet!:)
I have an accent even in Dutch (a local accent)! A native English speaker could probably tell where I'm from a mile away when I mangle the English language.

You have an accent, but certainly not heavy.
