I just had my arm twisted into buying this Stetson Fifty. I gave in just before it broke.
Tough negotiator, Neal Blangiardo.
One would almost think he does it for a living.

I am trying to get all the Stetson numbers. This is the first 50 I've seen. Bowen says he saw a One Hundred and Fifty once. I hope I find one, but I doubt it.

I have a 15, 20, two 25s, 50, and three 100s.
Daniel told me about a Thirty on eBay, but he bought it before I could even find it. [emoji53]

And a Texas Luskey's hat as well! If you ever get tired of that one Max, put me on your waiting list :)

""Luskey’s first opened in 1919 as a dry-goods store in downtown Fort Worth. It was quickly changed to a western store when the original Luskey brothers noticed that while in the stockyards buying and selling cattle, cowboys often shopped for themselves.""

He just sent me two. Says he will send a bigger close-up later tonight. Unusual, isn't it?

Wow, I hope for your sake it’s a Churchill 100. Is there any indication that the sweat and/or liner isn’t original? Without some more information, I’d say it’s a Shudde Bros. hat in a Churchill box.

I was trying to close in inside the liner, but is not clear enough.

No indication, just the generic Shudde Bros markings and a faceful of risk between me and one other guy.

The old Shudde Bros. house brand hats were very nice...not sure who made them. As you well know, it’s a long distance between very nice and a Churchill Beaver 100!

The vintage world, at times, can be very cruel.

I don't get emotionally attached to things very often, but in relation to hats, the only hat I have that I will never part with is my cavalry Stetson that I wore while crossing the Iraqi border in 1991 on top of a Bradley tank while manning a fifty cal. That hat was with me the whole time for the two weeks we were engaged in the ground war. I was attached to the 1st Infantry and we kicked some serious behind.[emoji631][emoji631][emoji631][emoji106]

The hat is neatly stored with my uniform.

So, I can understand how people feel when they encounter something special.
