I’d say you’ll probable know about 10 sec after you have it in hand if it is a Churchill Vicuna/beaver 100 Daniel.
Without inside tags you will be the only one who can make that assumption.

The vintage world, at times, can be very cruel.

I don't get emotionally attached to things very often, but in relation to hats, the only hat I have that I will never part with is my cavalry Stetson that I wore while crossing the Iraqi border in 1991 on top of a Bradley tank while manning a fifty cal. That hat was with me the whole time for the two weeks we were engaged in the ground war. I was attached to the 1st Infantry and we kicked some serious behind.[emoji631][emoji631][emoji631][emoji106]

The hat is neatly stored with my uniform.

So, I can understand how people feel when they encounter something special.

Nothing wrong with black hats. You just need to find the right ones.

Thanks Max! (Yes fellow Loungers he did sign a non-reblock agreement). Moonie did reach out on this one early on, but was concerned it was too small. I hope it fits you well Max and that you and your descendants can wear it for another 100 years.

Max i really really had a hard time refraining from this hat. It is such a one of a kind hat in the BRE style.
You may not have any BRE’s, or maybe you do, but now you have a MRE.

You got a one of a kind there!!! While I hope it fits when your hair is shaved.......I am glad you will not resize or otherwise destroy this historic hat!!! I MUST say I have been looking at it here and on the "Bay" ever since Bob posted it.......simply wonderful hat.
You may need a MUSEUM Pedestal for this one, glass cover and all!!!

Can you still fit into the uniform? I am sooo thankful that at least my head is the same size as it was in my 20's. Otherwise I would have room full of hats that no longer fit my fat head!
