She was wearing blue eyeshadow to match her dress. And it looked really bad on stage.
Yes, it was on stage that I was referring to. I watched it in HD as well. Her eye make-up looked terrible to me and that is unexpected from one as sophisticated as Ms. Witherspoon.

The women are dressed to the nines, so I don't see why the men would deformalize the tux.
That's the MO of today's male, just look at the streets. Bunch of laggards out there.

Did anyone notice the dreamy red dress that director Megan Mylan wore? She won the Oscar for her documentary "Smile Pinki" and was apparently in the nose-bleed seats, as it took her awhile to get to the stage, but during that time, I did a double take as I saw this incredible red hue and her trim frame in that simple, gorgeous dress - the back was stunning, open, with loose fabric in an almost wing-like configuration. Unfortunately, the less famous people - even ones with brains and style - don't get the photo ops, but I thought she was stunning. Here's a link to Getty Images, which has a picture of her.

I didn't like Reese's makeup either... I am not a fan of matching your eye shadow to match your clothes.

Heidi Klum's dress was really fashion forward and looked great. Miley Cyrus had the worst dress, IMO. SJP looked great too- she's always a risk taker. Ferris with highlights??? No.

Anne Hathaway, Natalie Portman and Tilda Swenton looked amazing in Lanvin!! You can never go wrong in Lanvin. Sadly, I cannot say the same for anyone in Elie Saab.

I'm so over Beyonce and the Urban Designer Hot Messes her mom makes.

The men looked fantastic, except for P.S.Hoffman. Is it me, or is Brad Pitt turning into Gable??

Reese looked like she is still playing June Carter.
In 1974.

I like Miley's dress. It was very princess-y and appropriate for a young girl with a well-scrubbed image. Angelina would have looked ridiculous in that dress, and Miley would have looked silly in Angelina's.
I though Sarah Jessica Parker looked ghastly.
Anne Hathaway was perfect, perfect.

Was Scarlett Johansson there?

I thought Heidi Klum's dress looked like a high-end version of one of those "sexy" devil costumes that you buy in a bag at Halloween. Bleck.

Megan Mylan

I love that the woman who won for best documentary, who probably spends 99% of her working time in jeans, out-glammed 90% of the Hollywood glamour girls. She looked great.
I'll bet she's ten times more worth knowing than any 9 out of ten of those actresses as well.

Brad Pitt looked very sexy as did Robert Downey Jr. ;) There is no excuse for Mickey Rourke- or PS Hoffman. Ruffians! Yes, Mickey looked great- for Mickey. Points for Gaultier though!

Marion Cotillard in DIOR!! Brilliant. She wore Gaultier last year and was smashing then, too.

I love her architectural, asymmetrical couture gown by Roland Mouret. I will say, that it might be better suited for the Met Ball, as gals usually go more classic glam for Oscar night. We all have our opinions.

I like what they were going for, but I don't think the dress was tailored to her very well. The pink and gray jewelry don't with it, either.

Are Seal's nails painted?

For me, the sexiest, most glamorous gowns were those that covered up everything, but were very fitted and flattering. Anyone can get a "WOW!" reaction by doing the tug-em-up-and-pool-em-out-on-plates look. But there's a lot more artistry and allure in making jaws drop without All Naughty Bits On Deck.
