I'd love to see silly, strange, or just OBNOXIOUS things you think are great from the 1910's through the 1950s.

I'll start off with two of my favorites- both from the late 30s.

Here's something most people will probably find obnoxious, but I make no apologies in loving it:

I love outfits that get lost in their own frills.

To me this is perfect lol

And I have started to covet some 20's designs precisely for their obnoxiousness lol

And I see nothing wrong with the frilly dress, to me it looks just too summery for the fur, I'd still wear the fur but in another context.

Oh, and i too have a soft spot, ok let's call it obsession for crochet ...and have I mentioned feathers?!!!lol

I used to hate the frills on 30s dresses but I've really come round to them in the last year or so. They're a bit mad and, dare I say it, fun?

Just shows how tastes do change, even for people as set in their ways as me.

Daisy, most of those hats are cr-razy. I bet if you wore them down the street back then people would have been turning round and thinking 'What the heck?!?' lol.

I must have a taste for "extraordinary" and difficult to pull off stuff lol
...one of the things I have to constantly remind myself of when shopping, as in "must stay away from", but find hard to get that discipline

Really, anything ruffly, lacey, doilie-esque, sparkly, furry, too many buttons, generally OVERDONE wins my heart every single time. That, paired with some kind of wild fabric and I am sold.

I say that 1937 to about 1941 is the "HATS GONE WILD" era! lol

This is earlier than the time period (1885), but I couldn't resist. I would wear the %^%$^% out of this! It actually looks warm.
