This is usually a very friendly forum, but I'd advice a ban on political and religious topics. That's what works on other sites and it pretty easy to self-moderate for most people.

Geez! Can't anyone take an intelligent joke?

But the likeness is really good on the Russian photo, but I think it is just someone pulling our collective legs as well.

Too Politically Correct?

I don't think we had to check our sense of humor (no matter how lacking mine may be) at the door!

I was hoping that Obama could just get a decent hat to wear. It may entice his young followers to get on board the Fedora bandwagon and resurrect an American tradition. As I mention to the fellas in my gun club, we need to get the next generation on board, or the traditions will die with us. As in my gun club, I tend to notice that there aren't too many young folks that have taken up the interest in vintage goods in general.

The more hats that are bought can help revive an industry and generate more jobs for folks who still carry on the craft of making fine hats. An increased demand in hats will bring about better and higher quality hats along with more varieties and styles. Just like automobiles, we can have Fords and Lincolns of the fedoras we all like. We need more folks like Art and at Optimo to carry on this important tradition.

Then I guess your answer would be to find a hat like the Chairman Mao for Obama, which is more indicative of the state of the US economy which is now beholding to the Central Bank of the People's Republic of China (via Walmart), than the US Congress.

Actually, it's via the previous administration borrowing heavily to pay for Iraq. For those with short memories, the current state of the US economy was inherited by President Obama when he took office.

As for a hat for President Obama, Stetson did have a promotion going during the weeks before his inauguration. There's a thread about it here. The web site for it is here.

Tom
