Here is my first hat from Mike, worn today. Silverbelly beaver, 2 1/2" whipstitch brim, 1 1/2" metal ribbon.

Seriously like/hate this photo. I love the hat and like the background. But hate I am surrounded by 3’ of snow while you live there.

My panama on order is white straw so leaning toward a classic blue/navy blue ribbon but have yet to finalize. I like the copper a lot but not sure about it on the white panama.

Here's the Panama Mike made for me with a Cuenca body I brought back from Ecuador. Navy ribbon with a splash of off-white in the bow keep.

I like navy a lot, but have decided I need one with a basic black ribbon, too!

Yes, I think that is the look I am after. He is keeping a body for me with a brim wide enough he can put a small curl in it. Your hat is classy!

Mike has a good connection for Cuenca straw. Anyone looking for a nice hat should check in with Mike to see what he has from time to time. I only pick up my own bodies because I travel to Cuenca every year or two. My wife is from Ecuador and we visit her family between my trips to hat shops, hahahaha...

The great thing about the "white" Panama is almost any color will look great.

That's a beautiful weave, block, and ribbon combo. I would love to do something similar with Mike if I ever get down to Ecuador.

This arrived today. It's a Fepsa beaver felt made for Engel & Co. Hatters in slate-blue. It started out with a 6 1/2" crown (open) and 2 5/8" brim. I sent it to Mike Miller to work his magic. The result is a complete refurbishment. The crown is now 5 1/2" open and the brim is 2 3/4". He had to trim the brim to make it even all around. Before it was 2 5/8" in front and on one side. It was 2 1/2" on the back and the other side. I supplied the 1 5/8" striped gray ribbon.

I have 6 hats coming from Northwest on which Mike did various degrees of refurbishment.

1) A sahara ArtLite that received a new vintage ribbon.

2) A Peters Bros hemp received a new vintage ribbon treatment.

3) A vintage Knox panama that had the pug replaced with an interesting vintage ribbon. The colors in the picture does not do this justice. Mike also re-blocked the crown to add the pinches.

4) A 40s Royal Stetson DeLuxe that was cleaned and re-blocked. It’s a camel color that I think looks peach in person.

5) A vintage Tom ‘n’ Jerry (50s) that was cleaned and re-blocked. Love the spiral stitching on the brim. Does anybody know how that was done back in the day?

6) Last but definitely not the least my 50s Borsalino muflone Lontra. All Mike did on this was press out the wrinkles.
