My son received this charcoal rabbit ready to wear from Mike. He did a center crease, wide pinch with a 2 1/8 brim. I had him add the 19 ligne burgundy ribbon. This is my second ready to wear. See post 1644 for pictures of my bronze RTW. The Tonak felts are great. I'm itching for the dove!

I'm sold on Mike's ready to wear hats, great feel and a lot higher quality than any modern day Stetson for the same money. His deal on these is ending soon, $195 is a super price for this quality. He can add extras (binding, ribbon changes, etc.) for a few dollars more. I have one of the dove gray versions on hold until after Christmas. Super excited about this color. Brims are 2 5/8" with a 5 1/2"(? ish) crown. He will cut them down to a stingy for the Eugene hipsters if needed.

His display in the shop is kind of cool, he has them all lined up in open crown with a sign: "Styled While You Watch" Hats Style choice by you! We do the finishing. I think this will get some high quality fedoras out in the world. I'd give him a call, this price is only for a short time and then they go up. Worth every penny.

I won't be back down to Mike's for a couple of weeks. Off the rack, they are very high quality. Just like the customs, just "mass" produced (he puts them together when he has a free minute). For the price (unknown at this time), far superior to any off the rack Stetson for the same money. Hell, they are nicer than a new Borsalino (IMHO) in the stores now, for half the price.

I agreed, I have the bronze with the stock charcoal ribbon. Paid a bit extra for a few custom touches. A great hat, great felt, at a very, very fair price.

Yes he custom blocked and shaped the hat from bodies he got from Ecuador.

I traded mine to Bill for a Vita-Felt Stetson. I need to have him make me another, fine straw hats for the money.

Yes, the effect is very very subtle. Probably would not do it again as it does not show enough even to photograph.

Thats useful information. The dove is calling to me but I’ve grown fond of taller crowns and while 5.5” isn’t short I think I’d want more. That bronze is a lovely color too.

Yes, I really like mine. I was hesitant to go with the charcoal but could not come up with any other contenders. Mike said he loved the charcoal with the bronze so rolled the dice and trusted his judgement.
