WOW!
Red that is a fantastic hat! The dog ears on the gills is a great touch, Mike's ribbon work just keeps getting better and better!

Roger K. Congrats on the new hat! The double teardrop is a great look, I have one that Mike made for me that is featured on his website as the "Seeing Double" model dress hat.

Sorry this took so long, this navy felt is a challenge to photograph, and the longhair makes it harder. My trip to NW Hats in Eugene was just what the hat room needed. Another white box with a bespoke hat in it. I'm going to have to make two piles, it is getting kind of tippy:D

Mike was playing with a brushed longhair finish a while back on another visit and I fell in love. Navy beaver felt took this finish so well, it shines what ever way you turn. Smooth and luxurious to the touch. I had him do his magic on a Shark's Gill with 10 pleats and some extra detailing. I wanted a hat that just wouldn't be for special occasions, so a teardrop makes it a little less formal. Full 6" crown with 5 1/2ish at the crease. I also went with a wider 2 7/8" brim. I think this one will be a custom daily driver.

Detail of the gills, in this light it looks black, weird.

Very nice, sir! I’m not usually a huge fan of the gilled ribbons but that treatment is really sharp. Thanks very much for sharing.

Mike, the finish on that felt is breathtaking! I wholeheartedly agree with your dimensions too. What an absolutely wonderful hat. I’ll be looking for it in the My Blue Heaven thread too.

It was a good day in Eugene visiting with Mike Miller. We finalized my design for my next creation. A navy long hair finish fedora. He has the body already prepared and it is marvelous! The sheen in all types of light is really something. He had a really cool coach hat (short top hat), had to try it on.

Can't wait to see when it's completed. That sheen is remarkable!

Redfokker that is absolutely stunning! Up until now I was not a huge fan of either the long hair or the shark gill, was I ever wrong! The colors suit it perfectly as well. Mike is incredible at turning ideas into a masterpiece! You can wear this one proudly everyday...you will however make others a little jealous!

Michael the hat of the NW is really very nice and the choice of colors and shargill ribbon superlative.
I'd like to have an equal one. If so I will make a change to the crown, I would see it better with a central crease, but it's just a detail. Bellissimo e bravissimo tu nella scelta e il cappellaio nella fattura!

Thank you Daniele. I think this hat would look just fine with a center dent, it has a high crown.

I bought my first fur felt cowboy hat used on ebay as a broke undergraduate student to keep rain off of me while riding my bike to school. Now that it's worn out, and I'm a professor, I replaced it with a 100% fur felt cowboy hat made by Northwest Hats. The quality is fantastic. Depending on where Hurricane Michael goes next, I'll be able to test the rugged water resistance of pure beaver felt shortly!

I just took ownership of this beauty. 100%Beaver with a long hair finish. This is my third purchase with Mike. Already back in queue for the next.

I have a couple of long hair finishes from other custom hatters and they don't have that wonderful sheen that Mike gets on his. The last time I dropped in to see Mike he showed me a cutting from a long hair Dark Moss and the sheen was wonderful.
