Love the band too. Those colors really pop!
It goes over big at the theater.

I think that pug is fantastic. I'm going to call Mike and have him set one aside for the Milan he's repairing for me.

Had a great visit with Mike today. Picked up my refurbished Brent OR clone that was saved from moth bite hell. He also redid the sweat and liner on a Derby of unknown manufacture. This derby is early, the original sweat had a taped seam with the ghost of the small round size sticker. The curl on the brim is really sweet. It will be a daily driver derby. I also ordered a new homburg from Mike. Going with a bone beaver felt and an interesting vintage ribbon he has that is kind of a dark teal blue. A really nice triple stitching on the brim curl will make it a quasi Lord's Hat. Should be a real statement.

Got a text from Mike, when I was nursing my sore feet from the walk home from the shop, so I called and we chatted for about an hour. Mike emailed me a few pics of the grade 12 Cuenca straw for my approval before he shipped it to me with the 2 other repair jobs (one felt, one Milan), AND 3 pugs, hehehe.... including one that @Bob Roberts claimed he had bought up and destroyed!

I love the looks of this one. Head shots coming later.

I think that ribbon treatment may be one I need to steal. The weave on that straw is just crazy

Hey Doug, I should have written you a note on your box leaving from Mike's this morning. The postman picked it up not long after I got there. Got to see the makings of my new project by Mike. Left the Huckel there for a re-blocking and sizing. It should fit like a custom in no time. The Borsalino fits like a glove now. It is going to get some serious head time. Not to pimp for Mike too much, but he has some "production" hats made from Fespa felts for $185. Nice.

You should have signed the box somewhere, Red! Something like, Inspected by Number 1.... ;)

Mike told me about his production hats, but didn't say they were FEPSA felts. How does the felt compare to Winchester beaver?
