I agree. The Vanson is unusual too. It's cut longer and the zipper starts out much higher. when worn though the despairity between the panels is meaningless and doesn't really amount to anything, functionally or aesthetically. At least for me.Wow, that vanson is way off. When i spoke to vanson about a custom jacket they said they could add the snap. im in 100% agreement about having the snap helping the bottom of the zipper. My vintage bates and langlitz both had them and the bottoms of the zippers were in way better condition than my not so vintage vanson. Im a firm believer that it helps. If it wasnt on a jacket i would have one added. A snap is alot cheaper than replacing a zipper.

Crappy pic but notice to the right of the zipper pullWhat is this snap you guys are talking about, I don't know what I'm suppose to picture
Yeah I believe it takes a lot of the stress off the zipper tape, when sitting or bending with the jacket zipped. Simple little detail that can preserve the most fragile part on any jacket. Especially the heavy leather ones.Oh that's actually really neat. It does probably make it really secure
Yeah. Alan and co can sew a jacket to the nuts! But tbh that little detail doesn't really have any effect on my overall feel about each one of them. These are my top 3, as it were, and they all have small flaws and incongruent features that honestly make them all the more endearing and unique. Like a birth mark or something. I couldn't pick a favorite. Believe me...I've tried!Dang, that Johnson one is spot on!!!
