I've used it for years and it was fine, mostly buying, went back and had a few scammers clicking buy it now then cancelling immediately, asking to send weird ways, I had one good buyer but the rest were odd. It feels like it's changed a lot.
I’d certainly agree eBay has changed, and not for the better, for private sellers. It’s not the place it once was a few years ago and is really now more geared up for the business sellers. Even so, it can still be a good place to both buy and sell.
While a buyer cancelling (and for some reason eBay have actually made this easier) can be irritating as long as you remain within eBay and ignore any requests to go ‘off piste’ you hopefully shouldn’t end up being scammed and will, at least, still have the item.
Having said that unfortunately there will always be the low lifes looking to people rip off. Nothing is completely fail safe and eBay is no different. Whenever I sell something of any real value I take a look at the buyers feedback before dispatching the item. It hasn’t happened yet but if had any concerns I’d try to check these out to make sure all is OK.

Impossible, in effect. Properly resizing an entire leather jacket includes identical amount of work as making a brand new one, with an additional task of taking it apart.
This is exactly so. Whether the garment is a woven fabric or a hide it is made up in panels. To reduce the size of the garment you have to reduce the size of each panel, then reassemble it all. It's as Monitor explained the amount of work needed to do it properly, exceeds that of selling what you have and buying new.

For what it's worth, I experienced much the same with an expensive, made to measure suit a year or so ago. The Tailor more or less said the same as Monitor.

Makes perfect sense.

Congratulations on losing the weight mate, even when the "fallout" is your jackets not fitting you anymore that's a cheap price to pay :)

To answer your question I would have to agree with the other answers, it would be a lot of hustle(if not impossible) to retrofit the jacket to your "new" body, so selling them of and starting anew would also be my recommendation(I had to do the same around 2 years ago when I dropped a lot of weight so I know the struggle haha).

Cheers mate!

Another option is to find similar jacket in different sizes to trade with.

I have seen successful downsizing on leather jackets, but only one size, so 1 cm or 0.5" (in half) trimmed off all the seams. I am not sure how much they would cost, but my best guess is over 350 dollars per jacket, you may find someone that will do it for less. Sizing down two sizes needs more work depends on the grading system, it can be up to 3 cm per seam. The cost is usually too much unless you do the work yourself. So yeah it would be more economical to sell or trade. But there may also be someone out there who may be willing do the work for less, so get quotes too.

Good idea never thought of trading. I would trade for a motorcycle!
