New Crease....Opinions....?

I was playing with this Dobbs, while I'm waiting for some Grosgrain to come in.....by the way, you all may remember me asking which color would look best on this Lid on a different thread? I had about 4 different colors? I took someones advice about the Green, that I didn't have at the time.....but I think I might've finally found it, I hope. Anyway....not to get OT, I was playing with the crease and want to know if you think this looks dumb, corney, different, cool, etc.... In other words, should I keep it in or dump it? I respect and value the opinions of the members here and would honestly like to know. Thanks.

Just try and imagine what it would look like with a dark green 1.5" grosgrain on it as well......

1. How did you do that?
2. It may look better if you followed the "optimo" crease to the front and rear of the hat.
3. I don't dislike it.
4. It's very original!

I need to study it for awhile.

THe crease across the center of the crown seems more of a Panama Hat concept. I do like the style of telescopic with dead flat across the crown more so.

It looks great, it really does. But, (there are always butts & buttheads ) you may want to stretch the crown a little taller to get the Art look.

Oh, and since I'm the guy who recommended the green ribbon , I can't wait to see that ribbon on this lid. Something tells me it's gonna look killer...

I hope you're right and it does turn out to be killer.

Art, I by all means had no intentions of copying your Spimoni, I hope you realize that..... I could never in a million years do that, nor would I want to try. :eusa_clap

Didn't mean for my comment to come off negative Bolthead, it never crossed my mind you were trying to copy me, just wanted you to know that it's been done, in the 40's as a matter of fact. I copied it myself.

No, it didn't come off that way at all, but it is comforting to know that it didn't cross your mind either.
I guess after seeing yours,I was left with a bit of a guilty conscience for some odd reason. [huh]

Remember this one....?

I finally got around to finishing it.
I couldn't find any cotton/rayon grosgrain that was a nice Green that I wanted, so I went with Navy Blue w/a Gold accent in the Bow.
I'm waiting on a pin for it, either the fedora lounge lapel pin, or my initial monogram, not sure yet, neither have come in yet. In the mean time, I put this one on it for photop.

I messed up a bit with the bow, it's a little off center....but I can live with it. [huh]
