Here's my son in his first suit. It was made by a tailor in Ilford in 1963. It's a bit big for him but he'll soon grow into it. The condition is fantastic. He sorted through an old bag of ties and picked out a 1960s tie from John Collier - exactly the right style to go with the suit.
I love this style of suit: the trousers are still relatively high waisted (i.e. cut in the old style, no belt loops, fob pocket, braces buttons) and it is modern enough not to look too retro but old enough not to look all skinny and mod.
And he chose to wear a tab collar shirt.
