I don't know if it is a function of where I live, but I never find anything vintage that is worth a damn. In this case, there were a lot of old hat boxes around, most of which held rotting straw hats. There was this one ancient Dobbs box that I pulled off the shelf for the heck of it, and when I opened it, there was this flawless white had, upside down, in the box. When I saw the size I almost fainted! Not many vintage 7 3/8 sizes out there.

That is one fine looking hat. Rare indeed. It's amazing that there are still treasures to be found out there from that era in such great shape.

So... where were Morrison hats made?
Was this one sold from somewhere in Chapel Hill & environs or further afield?
Has anyone else got a Morrison?
I love these obscure old brands.
I have a Murdock & a Simon both seem to be local hatters or regional at best.
Again, a lovely acquisition... a real Golden-age beaut' doggone it! & to know it was just over the mountains from me....
