Movies I revisit when I need to recharge.

I have certain movies on disc which I tend to revisit when I need to recharge mentally. I am curious if any of my fellow Loungers have similar lists.

My personal list includes:

Interesting subject...I never really thought about a movie as a recharging vehicle. My idea of going to a movie was to "escape from reality" for a couple of hours. I suppose if I *had* to answer the question I'd have to cop out without providing a specific title but my idea of getting a recharge would be a "revenge" movie of some sort...you know, where the entire movie is leading up to the good guy getting the bad guy in the end, especially if the bad guy is connected with the government in some way <g>. I guess I'll have to think about that a bit....a lot of movies have that as at least part of the story line and I'm not including those...I'm only including those that begin with the good guy getting wrongly hosed in some way and the remainter of the movie concentrates on developing and successfully implementing the revenge.

Hmmm...maybe I need to seek professional help...

I watch the funny movies more often than the serious ones. This doesn't mean theyre "better" but I can watch them over and over again. So my list of "favourite" movies would contain some other stuff...

But to "recharge":

-All Monty Python movies, plus Flying Circus Series, plus Fawlty Towers
-Helge Schneider movies (just a german thing....not translatable)

Funny horror movies too...just like
-Evil Dead 2+3
-Braindead (aka Dead Alive)

And classic horror
-Karloff movies
-Bela Lougosi movies
-Vincent Price movies

Most of the Tim Burton Stuff, the first Tarantinos and some early Coen Brothers Movies.

Great choice, I always watch for this one on AMC,TCM,and FMC one of my favorite Cary Grant performances (see my avatar) because he is so against type and seems to have a lot of fun with it.

When I want something sweet, with a nice little cleansing cry, I turn--over and over again--to Truly, Madly, Deeply. I have never met anyone who likes this movie, too. Of course, I've met very few people who have ever heard of it! At least on this side of the pond... Alan Rickman and Juliet Stevenson. What's not to love??

I like it a lot, but then I love Alan Rickman. Great actor.

Once upon a time, I guess I might have said The Rocky Horror Picture Show, but not so much since most of what I watch it for now is rehearsal. My relationship with that one is... complicated.

To add to FFF's list above, I would say also Casablanca (Rick Blaine is in large part what I would love to be - but as he starts out, not when he goes soft at the end). Another great one is Cry Baby. Anything Indiana Jones. And anything, absolutely anything featuring Bruce Campbell.
