Hat Movies!

Well Miller's Crossing is certainly a favorite of mine, and not just because of the hats. The script, sets, acting are all top notch.
"Nothin' more foolish than a man chasing his hat"

I've enjoyed a few others recently:

Mobsters with Christian Slater.
Cotton Club with Richard Gear
Love Crazy with William Powell
The Rocketeer with Alan Arkin (and Jon Polito from Miller's Crossing)
The Sting
The Front Page
The Last Hurrah with Spencer Tracy

I recommend them all.

HAT FLICKS - DREAM ON...

Check out "Walter Mitty" starring Danny Kaye, 1947. A wide array of period fedoras, hamburgs and pork pies to include the wide-brimmed pork pie Mitty himself wears. (Some pretty good laughs, as well.)
Unfortunately, the poster shows Mitty hatless. But don't be misled. There's plenty of styles to warrant reaching for the PAUSE button.
Happy Fourth!

It was especially a showcase for ladies' hats. Here are a few:

Walterm Nitty's movie - second picture.. Is that Leslie Howard (or whoever plays Scarlet's O Hara's heartthrob in that Gone With The Wind, I forgot :) ) ? Well, whoever that is, I like that low crowned grey fedora - I wonder what that is? Porkpie?

MITTY PIX

J.T., great photos from the film!

Interesting, too, when you catch a glimpse of the top of Mitty's pork pie the crown has not been perfectly shaped in the telescope fashion. This implies Mitty may have done the bash himself... while daydreaming of wandering Art's Vintage Silhouettes showroom.

I concur!

Neat inclusion of Paper Moon in there. I've always really liked that movie.
