Milkshake anyone?

I love getting a candy cane shake or a peanut butter&jelly shake at The Purple Cow...a somewhat 50s feel diner that has the most awesome shakes.

We've been to the Purple Cow in Dallas a few times, good food and kid friendly!

Wait a minute! World War II theme, warbirds on the ramp, good food, and fantastic milkshakes?! Heaven. I may have just glimpsed heaven. In a small town in Texas? Who'da thunk?

It IS heaven! We're going back in August and I cannot wait. Did I mention that the rooms have leather chairs, Egyptian cotton sateen sheets, and Army-style wool blankets on the beds? And the bathrooms are black/white hex tiled? Are you drooling yet? lol

I like Purple Cow. They have pretty decent burgers and their ice cream/shakes are good. The "adult shakes" (with al-keee-hol) aren't bad either!

The whole hotel and diner are 1940s inspired - gorgeous! Definitely worth a stay if any FL-ers are ever in that area.

Not at all! Just show up and enjoy the atmosphere. I'm no Ginger, but always up for teaching fellas a couple of basic steps, if you're interested!

Thanks for the offer - if Stephanie and I get to go, I might seek your guidance! She's into vintage, too, so she would love to go as well.

All that, and a '40s bar, too? Sounds nifty! Wish I had some big bucks, I'd open a place like that in downtown Fort Worth!

Oh there'll be plenty of ladies there in vintage, for sure. They usually have one in January or February as well that has a nice turnout. A bunch of us always go down for those so there's always a big vintage/vintage uniform contingent. lol

For years I held out hope that someone would redo the Baker Hotel. I think Mineral Wells is just too damn decrepit, though. Shame, because it is a beautiful building.
