This past Winter I found that I really love the new quasi-military styled jackets and coats. There's lust something mysterious and imposing about the high necks and sleek look. They can go anywhere from rough and tumble to refined.

I've long been a fan of army surplus clothing - I think I got my first pieces when I was 14 (i.e. as soon as I was big enough to fit into them!!). Buying actual army surplus is actually a great way of getting an absolute bargain on a vintage-style overcoat that has been made to a very high standard....

Quite probably the single clothing item which sent me away from wearing nothing jut a t-shirt and jeans was a military surplus overcoat I asked for, and got for Christmas quite a few years ago. A tiny step, leading to my new, much improved sense of style. I now have three surplus overcoats, and that is not enough! The military has quite possibly got the most style of any institution nowadays, because in my opinion public opinion doesn't wear on them as much, so they stick to what looks good...

Say, where can I get that bottom jacket?

In many ways military surplus offers timeless fashion designs. Specialized gear does reflect modern innovations such as current camo patterns, which continue to evolve.

Any more info on this last jacket? The cut with the bellows pockets is quite striking.

That sure looks like an exact copy of an early WWII U.S. officer's blouse, but with silver buttons- I guess I'm back in style!
Cheers
