Wow! that is super nice. The color is very appropriate also for this time of year, Harvest/Thanksgiving and the Fall weather. It looks sharp on you, too!

I got a couple pics from Michael today. I'm quite excited about this one. open crown is 5-3/4" with 2-5/8" brim width.

The brim binding is very old ribbon called Belgian, a beige color that has undertones of red/pink.

The crown ribbon is also real old and is called Slate, with tones of silver/grey with the reddish purple brown uniqueness that it is. A real late 40's - 50's kind of match up I was looking for... with the twisted bow I've wanted since I saw that on Gannon hats commissioned by @moontheloon and @Frunobulax and frayed trailling edge of the bow, too. Me likey.

Doug: The natural felt with the "berry colored" hat ribbin is dynamite. Excellent combo. I believe you will find occasions to wear this hat. The ribbon, from your postings and pics, just seems to be a ribbon you would like. The fray end adds great eye appeal.

I have been wearing the natural beaver Gannon quite a bit. It is just a fun felt hue to wear about. The new sweatbands are superb! Very comfortable. At first I was a bit worried they might be more prown to show sweat stains. I have worked int he hat and the marks are not evident - totally satisfied.

Wear the hat with pride sir. Best, Eric -

I came home tonight and the hat box was sitting on the recliner in the living room. I removed the outer wrapping, then washed my hands, and then removed the hat from the box.

I am telling you guys, you need to get some of this vintage slate ribbon on a hat before it's gone. It's amazing beyond anything I've seen before. Slate/silver/red raspberry/blue-grey and it shimmers and changes color even under a 100 watt bulb with every turn or twist of the hand. The hat is outstanding in every way. I love the new sweat, the liner is luxurious, and the felt just bashes into a center dent, or c-crown or diamond with sheer ease.

No place to store a gem like this at Cabelas so I probably won't wear it until Sunday now. I can't wait. This fedora is extraordinary. The only thing I think will see steam is the front brim, just to drop it down and leave it there. Outdoor pics then.

Email Michael now about that slate ribbon. Do it. If I had the money I'd order another hat now and have Michael set aside enough for another hat. It's that good.

New Hat Day (NHD) is soooo cool! Your description brings very high anticipation to the first pics of you wearing the hat. Wear it! Leave it in the backseat at work. I frequently leave the hat under a plastic protector on my backseat in the cool weather at this tme f the year.

Excellent salemanship on the ribbon - lets see it in action so that I can work on my upcoming order sir. Just teasing. enjoy the new hat days upcoming. I can tell you I have been wearing my new natural gilled hat frequently-even not worrying about color pairing with my attire. I just like the hat. Who knows maybe I need to change and buy my clothes to match a hat. A radical dea for sure, but I admit I have thought about it.

Wear the hat with pride sir. Best tis evening, Eric -

I wouldn't trust a nice hat like that left in my car. I'd be afraid of having it stolen from my car!

congratulations Doug. Can't wait to see it. How do you think this ribbon will work with a charcoal felt?

Pics are here but really, they just don't capture the colors well. I'm sick so I'll post these and try to get some sleep as I've been up since midnight.

Dry crease and the diamond just appears now after playing with the felt a little. Pics show more grey than reality, which is more red/pinks coming through. I am loving this hat as much as I can in my current state. It's a spectacular hat by Michael Gannon.

That’s breathtaking. I’ve been thinking about a natural. You just pushed me over the hump. Gannon it is.

The natural I recently received from Mr. Gannon is also one of the softest, easily shaped hats, I've gotten from him. They've all been great, but there is something about the natural that stands out. Whether it be the felt or Mr. Gannon's increasingly improving skills, I don't know. Just compare the creases on the two hats posted in the comparison thread. The Gannon almost looks better than the 50s Stetson.
