How about if you use Velcro to temporarily attach whichever color you want whenever you want so you can swap them out?
Genius!

Yes, I'd go with the Lagoon. The felt is silverbelly (the last of the beaver bodies I got from Art). The ribbon colors, in order, are:
1. Gravel
2. Copper
3. Slate (not the same slate as he has had in the past).
4. Lagoon (same as on your FEPSA).
I’m going to go with a 19L (1.75”) ribbon in gravel. I’m planning a silvermist that I’ll go with lagoon on and I’m looking at a FEPSA silverbelly with an old copper ribbon made by Hufvud.
I'll just add, regarding the Lagoon, it is a lot more grey in hand than what the picture shows on my screen. I personally would have liked a little more of the purple/blue hues to shine through in person.
I have a silverbelly with old copper from NW Hats, and it's a real sweet combo. Browns always work, IMO, with SB felt so the gravel should turn out sweet.
Have you considered a shade of burgundy, or a stronger blue ribbon? (Just to make your decision making process even more muddy).
The hat arrived open crown so the pic below is the first crease. Easy!
Stetson Playboy inspiration is apparent.
I could not be more pleased. More to come.
Cheers, Eric-

Brent; Silverbelly and charcoal is my vote.
Good morning. I was wearing my new Gannon "Playboy" fedora for a dog soiree and a walkabout this morning.
This is the nicest pounced Gannon I have. Folks have asked about Michael's hats. This hat is proof that he is on his best game right now. I asked for the hat open crown and to have a light felt feel on the crown. Bingo! The open crown takes a crease with a gentle push of my hand. Bingo again! The side dents need a little more encouragement that is similar to what is needed from my 40-50's unlined Playboys. It is easy and soft. When a beaver felt is soft you can crease the felt and it will take a soft roll and with pressure it will hold a snappy straight crease. This is like that. I love the crown and top pouncing.
My inspiration was the venerable Stetson Playboys of the 1940's. They featured, for the most part, the "Playboy" signature ribbon (9 ligne) treatment, high crown, blocked straighter (52), flatter brim with brim stitch, light easily shaped crown and a bit stiffer brims. Michael Gannon hit it on the target! Bullseye!
I love the blue smoke felt that this hat is made from. The blue smoke beaver felt is a felt (thanks Brent) that was the last of the last stock from Art Fawcett (VS Hats). This was a special felt make-up from Winchester. The beaver felt hood that this hat is made from is not totally color uniform. It has a couple lighter color circles. I do not notice the variation until I put my eyes and nose close to the hat body. I do not care that it has a variation as I like the hat hues very much.
The brim stitching is dynamite! Excellent detail! I will not hesitate to ask for this feature on upcoming Gannon fedoras.
The sweatband I chose is the burgundy leather. I deliberately chose the treated band and not the natural. I wear the hats too hard to use what I would prefer, natural sweatband. The burgundy hue is stunning when you turn the hat over in your hand. This leather has a leather dye and treatment that, for me, makes it more durable when I perspire hard wearing the hat. I will order this band hue again. I choose not to have my name embossed in the band for this hat. I wish for more subtlety. My hats do not get out of my sight or in unsafe spots. I am confident that in most situations I am the unique fellow with a hat and everyone would notice if my hat went with someone else. Certainly this is a personal choice. I like that I get choice.
Lastly, I have included a couple comparison pics of my blue smoke gilled hat from VS Hats. My Pacesetter, VS Hat, is a favorite fedora of mine. The felt is darker. The brims of the hats are both 2.5 inches. The crown on the Gannon is 1/2 inch higher.
Thanks for viewing my new Gannon Playboy. It has become a favorite the moment I opened the box.
Thanks to Michael Gannon, Brent for the felt hood and to Stetson (in the 40's )for the inspiration. Everyone needs a Gannon (and VS).
Cheers, Eric -
Super. Wish I could play with that felt. Your description is tantalizing. And no offense, but Playboys were blocked on 122, not 52.

I'm not normally a fan of red colors, but that sweatband is indeed stunning on that hat. As are the colors, the mid-ribbon, the dark liner, the straight-sided crown...it all works. Excellent choices! I personally would prefer a deeply flanged brim, but other than that the only thing I don't like about that hat is that it isn't mine. Mr. Gannon's work and results just keep getting better and better!Good morning. I was wearing my new Gannon "Playboy" fedora for a dog soiree and a walkabout this morning...

That's a great combo. Randy. That's a tough act to follow, Eric. An excellent selection of Gannons and more evidence of the quality he is known for. Congrats to Michael as well.

I avoided Silverbelly felt for a fedora mostly because I associate it with westerns and it’s a color I have a lot of. This dress felt is different, more tan and taupe and I love it.
