I liked the Ryder too. Sleeves were just too short. I have no problem with Stu. The hides are boring but certainly robust. He isn’t really forthcoming on sizing. And height:weight aren’t nearly specific enough. According to my BMI I am morbidly obese. So I think some clarity in his process or pattern grading is sorely needed.Ton, I think I bought your LW Ryder, didn't I. If not I have the same jacket. It is a really nice example, I like mine a lot.
Stuart's personality or his character doesn't bother me. If it's kayfabe or really him, doesn't matter. When he gets it right, his jackets are something else. I can disagree with someone and still find value in talking to them. I would be dumbfounded if I ever met someone who I agreed with about everything. I do think some things are worth fighting for but there's more civil ways to resolve differences that are preferred.
Anyhow, I'm glad I have my Ryder and my Buco Rider (purchased from Lina) long ago. Great quality, look good on me, and fit well.
But first and foremost, any discussion of a maker should at the very least be based on experience. With the product in hand. I know you have it, as do most others here. Then a noob with a jacket on order promotes himself to Lancelot. So I tried to stay out of this dumpster fire but at a certain point it got too far off the rails. Glad you like the Ryder, I knew you would and for what it’s worth I agree with what you’ve said.
