Well, the article did state that London area has about 30 a year, so this really isn't out of the norm. I really don't know about the global warming issue. But, I will say that aside from about a week long heat spell, this past summer here in New England was cold. It's not abnormal for us to have 90 degree humid summer days. But, we had, what seemed, a lot less than average this past summer. We also, for the first time in a while, had a fall. The leaves changed right on time. But then again, it was in the high 60's here last week, which for December is just wacky. But tonight it's going below freezing, the wind is blowing and snow is on the way. It's December in New England, and it certainly feels that way! Just my opinion, I really don't know what I think about this global warming issue. I think their are a lot more things to consider. Yes something is making those early winter day's warm, but something was also making those summer nights freezing. And I do mean freezing, we had an evening in late August that was in the 30's! Brrrr!! Also, in the states a few years ago the south was slammed with consecutive, high category hurricanes. Prior to that, we had these kind of storms but their rate didn't seem to be higher than the average. We had 2 summers in a row that were very very bad, so people started again on the global warming issue. But this year, we had none. Again, just my opinion but I think it has to do with something else. I wish I knew what, but I'm not a meteorologist. I just look at what I've seen and felt the weather do, and it's not consistent. One summer hot, the next cold. And what about all the blizzards we keep getting every year. Bring on the global warming if it means the city streets won't by head high with snow!!!Curt Chiarelli said:I'm glad to see no Loungers were hurt. However, thanks to global warming there's a chance that we'll be seeing an increased incidence of these in the near future.
