New Route 66, technically a motorcycle jacket, :)

Looks great, a pleasant change from the jackets with all the shiny zips and snaps you usually wear!

Oh, those shiny zips ones are just what I have taken photos of. Most of my jackets don’t have those, probably just the Schott 125, Bates T2, & Luftwaffe. The others are vintage, or A2.

Not mine, but damn! Brilliant combo. Instantly regret selling my Model B. Paired together that might cover 80% of the awful winters around here. Would certainly extend bike season.

Looks like a Lewis cross-zip, or a good knock-off thereof. Bronson do a nice vest of a similar style, though as of yet I've not seen one big enough for me to wear over a jacket.

Kehoe jackets are so underrated! My favorite Cafe racer jacket. There is almost no information online about these Detroit made jackets....wonderful specimen you have there. This is mine:

Great jacket. And you're right--there's almost next to no information out there about the Kehoe brand.

I did a search a while back on newspapers.com and it appears Kehoe went out of business around 1978. Most labels say "St. Clair Shores, Michigan" while others say "Warren, Michigan." Both are Detroit suburbs.

The Warren location didn't just sell jackets. According to newspaper ads, they also offered parts, tires, custom seats, "hog wheels," "sissy bars," lights, handlebars and accessories. The building is now an auto body and paint shop.

I found nothing about Kehoe outside of 1976-1978, suggesting the company was in business for just a short period of time.

Thanks for the info. Yes, indeed it seems to be quite a rara avis. I see them come up occasionally. I'm always surprised how little praise these jackets get. I love the zippers on the top side of the arms instead of the underside. Looks sick! I recently had an email exchange with Rin Tanaka, asking him why Kehoe was not included in his Motorcycle Jackets book. He said that Kehoe was just a copycat company, not really interesting. However, in what I have seen so far the leather is better than the one used by Brooks at the time (I love Brooks too, especially their early CR's! ). The cut and fit is better etc. Just a lovely Jacket!

Totally agree- I love the fit of the Kehoe, the top sleeve zips, and the soft suppleness of their steerhide leather. Very comfortable- like a second skin.

Beautiful fit on that one! I've never seen a Kehoe with arm stripes and slanted chest pockets...kind of a vintage Bates vibe going. Very cool!

Thanks man. Yeah, the slanted pockets seem pretty unusual for Kehoe, and look very cool I think. The arm stripes, when you look closely, were pretty clearly added by a previous owner.
