Thanks for the pic!

I think they look great. For me its not that one is good or bad...just different. I see these shots and I think what an amazing jacket and fit. Zipper and side flap still not for me. Still an awesome jacket. I totally get why for some folks its perfect.

Interesting, well I started the thread but in the end I am bailing on the Jacket. A full link of photos and not one pic that excited me. Its a style issue. I wanted one for fit and Goat skin but they just do nothing for me. My Aero and LW will have to make do for a while.

cascade vs crescent

you can have langlitz do almost anything to the coat. I have a columbia with the offset zipper & dress collar & a crescent with a straight zipper & dress collar. you can get them in straight or offset zippers & dress or cafe style collars, padded extra pockets inside & out. i went to the japan website then followed the collection photos & you'd be amazed what they do but you have to ask for it otherwise it's just the basic fare

If you can communicate the ideas, they can build it. They're doing an offset zip on a dark blue goat hide bomber with black knits for me. Haven't decided on my second jacket but have already paid for both over a year ago and have absolutely no reservations about dealing with them for what I want.

Ultrark, would love to see some pics of your jackets if you have any handy. I love Langlitz.
....By the way, Ultrark2004, welcome!

Thing about Langlitz--maybe this is true of all custom makers--is that when you are in the shop and put the jackets on you realize how many distinguishable things there are in the fit/built/feel of the jacket that the pics can't capture.

Hello dortiz............good call.
The Cascade is a terrific jacket. I've only handled one but have seen a few in the flesh (hide?). This example was thick and heavy cow, perfectly built and a real solid jacket.

Those examples from the Japan site didn't do anything for me either. Can any of us see McQueen, Newman or Brando wearing one? Looked like a freak show from a side street carnival.

Good luck with your order!

Regards,
coffee

Dave, which material did you decide to get?
Langlitz has mailed some samples for me to choose from. I'm still thinking about the offset Cascade with cafe-racer collar. Oh, and please, someone talk me out of the padded Pocket Columbia!

Going Goatskin. I have two horsehides and figure I can get cowhide anywhere. Having samples what are you thinking?

I haven't received the samples yet, but Langlitz assures me I want the goatskin! He stated that mailorder customers overwhelmingly choose cowhide, yet when anyone visits the shop in person they most always purchase goatskin. I guess seeing is believing, so to speak.
You make a good point about getting cowhide anywhere. I wish I could see a goatskin jacket up close.

The Japanese market's a little different in their tastes at times. I was trying to show the breadth of what Langlitz can do and some of the collar configurations as well. I like this page because it explains the mods done to the jackets, the options and the weight of the hides used.
Here's some great vintage jackets from Langlitz also from the same shop: http://bikers-heaven-hollywood.com/page026.html

Doritz, great choice....

I have about 15 samples from Langitz. It's all great stuff and the goats excellent. I like their cow too. It's true you can get cow anywhere but not in the grade they offer (light, heavy, and super heavy), and certainly not with the fit they can provide. I've decided I need at least three Langlitz. One of these being goat with light tan stitching.
