Found a old Hückel Superior today! The color is blue and I am sure you will not find some old blue Hückel much often. I think is one of the older Hückel!

O my! You really hit the jackpot with that one, Manfred. That is an awesome hat. It woul have been great if it was black, but in blue it's even better.

J. Hückel´s Söhne Sigma Seal Velour, Size 7 1/2, probably 1930s. Amazing find by Josh! Sure wish it was his size.

"I took a gamble on this one because the seller had no size listed. When I received the package I was SHOCKED to see it labeled a size 60!! I measured the length and width of opening as 8.5 x 6.75. The ellipse calculator gave a reading of 24 inches in circumference and I have verified with a measuring tape of a circumference between 23 7/8 - 24 inches. That makes it a 7 1/2 - 7 5/8!!

That being said, I have never handled a pre-war Austrian Seal velour before. All I can say is that it is the BEST velour I have EVER handled. Period. The color is so black is was next to impossible to take pictures of it. The felt on this hat is absolutely PERFECT and the hand is smooth as silk. The only disappointment was the sweatband. Its there, its original, its still attached to the hat with about 50% of the stitches, but if someone wanted to wear the hat, it would need to be replaced. "

J. Hückel ´s Söhne "Standard" "Crystal Velour", French Point Size 5 1/2, Brim 2 1/4 inches, Crown Open 6 inches probably 1930s. The overall condition of the hat is near mint condition. The "Crystal Velour" condition, color (light shade of green), finish and hand are fantastic. I think once I can photograph it in natural light the color and finish will better represented. This is definitely one of my better finds in a while.

An example of an early JHS Hat Hanging Cord. Also a unique sweatband. The leather color, finish and hand are fantastic.

Again: great find, Steve. I was just browsing the Hückel part of your website because I came across a Hückel Excelsior yesterday, which in retrospect I should have brought with me, even if it wasn't my size and it had issues (sweatband was poor).
