Based on the size tag alone, I'd say it's current. It looks like the same size tags used in the wool felt New York Hat Co. hats, generic Hats In The Belfry hats, the cheaper Baileys, etc. I don't know if it's genuine or not, though. Is the sweatband leather or fabric? Do you know if it's fur or wool felt? I honestly can't tell.
Nothing like bootleg Nike shoes. I'd assume bootleg Stetsons are around, but not common enough for me to ever have seen one, unless you count Stephen L. Stetson hats. Heh.
That's pretty interesting Rick. The sweatband looks like it's made of fabric as well. I do have a Buffalo felt stetson that has a similar liner, not exactly like this one. The Buffalo hat does have a leather (Buffalo Leather) sweatband though.
Looks pretty darn contemporary to me. That big horizontal slash is a component of the "S" logo used in the lower righthand corner of the pages on Stetson's website (althought the logo itself is not the same).
