That "new" has been there for at least 3 or 4 years. [huh]

I own one, and I can say it has it's pros and cons.

Cons; It's very floppy milan weave, so don't expect it to hold the look you see on the web page. Also, the packaging that PB uses causes the crown to taper by the time you get it. The floppy straw causes a lot of give, so expect it to feel loose if you order your exact head measurement. I find the ribbon work to be second-rate.

Pros; The floppy, loose weave is perhaps one of the most comfortably breathable unvented straws I have ever worn. This is an ideal hat for hot, humid conditions! Also, I sweat more than the average joe, and the sweatband has not done much shrinking. With concerted effort and a little water, the brim shape can be maintained and the crown reshaped (I went for a taper-free c/remington bash).

Overall; If you want an "Indy hat" made of straw, or a hat that will hold it's shape, this is not the one for you. But for utility, this one gets top marks in my book!

Here are a couple of shot by Binkmeister Rick that show me wearing it;

The PB's are definitely not plastic, and I'm thinking that the water would have destroyed paper straw. Thus, my conclusion is that it's real straw.

In hind sight, I do wish I had gotten a brown one, but what the heck.

Rusty, NB13, you wear those straws well.
I wonder if the steep price reflects more the "Indy" bait than the quality of the hat? I mean, is this hat better than the similar Milans available from Miller, that are almost half the price?
Are you hearing, Rusty? I think you own examples of both?

Its the Indy bait I would think.
My other milan is smaller proportioned than the Indy.
