Ooo, I love the Waterhouse and Millais! I know I've seen them before, one as a poster, maybe the other in a museum in Paris?... I'm not familiar with the painters, although I really should get acquainted with them. I'm a sucker for ponds, lakes, waterlilies, beauties with lily white skin, and romanticism of death :)

I agree with Laura Chase and ShrinkingViolet, Sunny truely resembles all the pics SV's posted. I had no idea Virginia Woolf was such a looker! I still have no idea about terms like pre-raphaelite, though. Is that art history?

Thanks so much, cherry lips! Rossetti's a good example. Now that it's come up, I remember thinking in the past that his primary model (I forget her name) looked a bit like me.

Elizabeth Siddall! Yes, she totally looked like you! Oh, I love the turn this thread has taken. I went through a huge Pre-Raphaelite phase as a teenager, all Anne of Green Gables-like. lol

Dante Gabriel Rossetti called women who personfied his ideal of beauty "stunners" - deep-set melancholy eyes, long aquiline nose and long, flowing locks of hair. (Rossetti and William Morris noticed Jane Burden, later Morris (the women who modelled Rossetti's Persephone) in a theatre, they approached her and Wililam Morris ended up marrying her.) So yes, Sunny is a stunner!

This painting is pure ecstasy:

Wow, that is amazing! I've never seen it before. :) And I've never been called a stunner before. Whee! :D

Maybe we should make a separate thread about this? Is this too off topic?

Oh, wow, I didn't know that. I googled Jane Morris and found some photos as well. I think there is a slight androgeny to her face, the lip resembles the lips of the male figures of early classical greek sculpture (for example the blonde boy), and the nose is quite greek also, and definitely not today's definition of a perky feminine nose. And of course the almond shaped eyes were a greek ideal also, as you see them on the archaic greek korai and kouroi.

And a sketch:

That nose really is something, I love it. Susie Bick (I know her as Nick Cave's wife, but she's supposed to be a big 80's model), has the same type of profile:

deadpandiva brought my attention to Virginia O'Brien so I was watching some videos of her singing. She is so beautiful and reminds me of Fleur De Guerre who has the same type of gracefulness.

Thank you so much for this! Since I discovered Virginia thanks to Deadpandiva I have idolised her! I try to channel her beauty and poise, but for you guys to compare me to her is an unbelievable compliment! :D

I also got a match for Brigit Bardot, Christy Turlington and some people I've never heard of. That is better than the first photo I tried, for that I was matched with Gandhi! lol

Audrey, you really remind me of Natalie Wood facially - it's those big eyes and heart shaped face. Whoever you may look like you're very beautiful in your own right :)

hmm when i had darker red in my hair, with strawberry blonde chunks i got the "oh you look like lucy" and i just replied with a "yeeeeeghh".

and when my hair was a bit lighter before i started dying it, people would say Betty Grable with a crooked nose and actually wearing a dress.

and then the most recent one i got was "rita hayworth gone burgundy."

i reeally don't know what to agree with, my dance teacher Leila gave me a book, Audrey Hepburn:an elegant spirit(the one written by her son) and she wrote in the first page of the book "you also have an elegant spirit!" so im guessing she was trying to say all too much there!

i think i look more modern in the face, but vintage in the soul. at least i don't look like that dumb Katy Perry.

I've gotten Maureen O'Hara and Lucille Ball before, but I think that's mostly the red hair... I also get Christina Hendricks, the woman who plays Joan on Mad Men.

What do you all think?

I can't say I look like anybody myself, but a lot of my friends call me Al Capone. I think it's more the way I dress rather than the way I look even though there's been a few that have said I look like 'em. Wha?! :eusa_doh:

Christina Hendricks is six kinds of sexy. She was also in the TV series Firefly.

Definitely a femme fatale in every role I'm familiar with.

That's not an inaccurate nor unflattering comparison to have made, absent the perilousness of course. :D

Hee hee. I'm quite the Firefly fan-- I actually met her a a comic book convention where I dressed as Saffron (because someone told me I looked like her and should). She couldn't believe how much I looked like her-- her reation was really quite flattering. She introduced me to her boyfriend and took a picture of me with her camera.

Let me tell you something-- she's even more gorgeous in person.

So, thank you ;)
