Thank you, Bamaboots!

Yes, it is. I had insomnia last night, so I carried out a conversation with Mikael late into the night.
I have never seen Petersham, but I really like that color combo, so he is going to make the hat with the Petersham ribbon and put another, grosgrain ribbon inside the box.
Mikael says his Petersham is made in Japan, and it is not the made in China Petersham that he also hates. At the very least, I will gain in experience. :)
I really like his Ragnar model.

I figured that if I really like them, I will save a lot of money. They cost about 1/4 of an Optimo. And man, Mikael responded to my many messages within seconds!

Max, ask Mikael to include felt samples with your hat. It’s nice to see what other colors he has available for any possible future orders.

These are the felt samples sent with my hat. Unfortunately, there are no names or identifiers for the colors. I’m including them in multiple lighting conditions:

I have no idea if he has access to other colors. These were the rabbit-hare blend felts he had on hand when my hat shipped.

Hi everyone,

Great to see a discussion going on. Have to say I apologize for not being more active here recently. Would like to thank Brent for the honest review. I aim to improve on my craft every day that I am in my studio (which is almost every day) and comments surely helps me to drive Hufvud towards the right direction.

Been busy filling orders and its still too expensive to hire any help around the worktable. Though I would very much see Hufvud having more than one hatmaker in the studio in the future.

I am updating my Hufvud.com homepage, which will have a store and more detailed information of what I am currently making and whats happening in the future. At the moment, Etsy is still my main store for that information.

My 2018 is focusing on selecting core colors of felts that I would like to keep on hand at all times. There has been a lot of exploration with colors. During the Autumn I will have 100X European Beaver in basic colors to begin with (Brown, Black and Gray) which will expand over time. Have had great response on the 30X Beaver in Brown. Wonderful material to work with and it makes for a very breathable hat.

This is an amazing community, one that I am happy to be a part of.

Finally I share with you my newest addition of blocks. Planning on making Cambridge bowlers and other western inspired shapes. Making an initial sample at the moment.

I’m hoping for a tight curled brim with lots of belly too. Something like this:

Lock & Co. finally added a listing for the Cambridge bowler online, although they don't sell it through the website apparently. Theirs would be the classic Oddjob bowler from the Bond movies.

I also really like what Jude Law wore as Holmes in the Guy Ritchie Sherlock Holmes movies:

My next hat, just a classic staple:

Indeed, i am going for a deeper curl for the Cambridge bowler. Currently its waiting on a sweatband assembly then its on to the curl of the brim plus bidning. That EMERALD GRAY color is running out in stock, great feedback on it. More coming within a month or so.

Most popular hats at the moment: RAGNAR and LEIFUR Fedora. Hoping Cambridge will have the same attention. I have not named it yet. Working on 3 hats at a time. Cambridge will hopefully be finished by next week. Since that one its a sample, I am working on it at the end of my day when orders have been done.

I may not be a fan of green hats for myself, but that's not to say I can't appreciate a well made hat in that colour. Nice job, Mikael. Lovely crown shape and I like the shape of the side pinches especially.

Thank you kindly! Yes, green is not for everyone. This one is flying off to France tomorrow.
