After a little over a 2 month wait, my new Aero will be shipped to me on Monday and hopefully be in my hands by the end of the week or early next week. I’ll give you a little preview shot courtesy of Carrie from TB to wet your palates for now. Full shots and fit pics will be posted once I get the jacket.

FYI. It’s NOT black. ;)
Oh boy. I know that color. That looks brilliant, man can’t wait for more pics! Will you post them at midnight?;)

I knew you would figure out the color right away. You are the inspiration why I went with this color.;) The jacket has a couple little twists which I incorporated in it thanks to all the TFLers here. I feel it will be familiar but unique at the same time. Once I get the jacket by weeks end or early the following week, I will do a detailed post and reveal with fit pics. Think you guys can guess the jacket design?:)

I understand. I feel afraid because I haven’t seen anything in leather lately that’s peaked my interest. I need a solid black cross zip but nothing looks appealing. Just a bunch of been there done that...
Hopefully my incoming jacket might re-inspire you. It’s not black but a cool midnight. ;) I opted for black stitching and buttons with nickel hardware to give it a sleek uniform look with a pop of silvery shine. If you are curious, I have 2 full jacket pics (front and back) that Carrie emailed me before she plans to ship it out this coming Monday. I can barely contain himself to post these pics. But I trying to wait until I get the jacket in my hands and make a full detailed post. Post now or later... I’m conflicted:confused:

I believe, if what i've read to be believed, these are designed by swedish brothers and assembled in Thailand from Japanese denim. LOL...even typing that makes me blush. I suspect a larger, far eastern country of origin is more likely but we'll see how it is. I grabbed it off ebay so the seller claimed the original retail was around $230...

Sounds reasonable. The first run of SJC denims were made in a small, family-run factory in THailand - from Japanese denim. From memory, Simon is using afactory in Hong Kong now. It's a good way of getting quality denim at alower retail than Japanese-manufacture. My experience with thissort of stuff is that it can, all materials being equal, be eery bit as good as the MIJ stuff but often half the price.

15 oz black cotton canvas with 14,2oz denim lining. Heavier than some... actually most leather jackets!

I like this. Be interesting to compare what tempteratures it can be worn in, compared to leather. Is there a price difference?

First time I've seen these, tough heard much talk. I like that a lot. I have my eye on an Aero CC Irvin, I wonder of that would work in black fleece....

Vanson Cheyenne Lee Trucker arrived right as I was exiting my home to head to the airport. Perfect timing. Awesome jacket in excellent condition. Seller said it was a slimmer fit than the Vanson Maverick Levi’s Trucker. He was right, it fits like my denim truckers. Very pleased with this one as I stuff it in my closet and head out.

You mean you didn't sip it on and wear it to the airport? ;)

I saw the raw skins when they arrived in the factory last week. Just looked fantastic. A real game changer in terms of the Aero's Irvin offering. I can see a lot of people going for this.

Is it intended to be LE, or will this be a longer-term production option?

Well..I certainly like the black shearling...but the caramel colored hide seems odd.

It's on the lighter side for an Irvin, though well within the ballpark of the original variations.

I'd be interested in seeing it in all-black, actually.... bit like the Buzz William Gibson range. A black Irvin could be pretty cool.

I’ve fought the disease as hard as I could but finally the “Heavy-Denim” virus got me infected and I succumbed.
22oz Brave Star Ironside denim jacket coming my way. :)

Cheaper afflication than leather, though? ;)

I can say already that I can wear the cotton version in quite a bit warmer weather than I would be able with similar leather jacket.

Cotton buco costs $ 850 with belt and leather J23 costs $ 1490 without belt (add $ 200 for the belt)

Actually I think the Cotton buco is almost a bargain. However I know that most people around here would be hesitant to pay this much for a cotton jacket!

It's certainly not cheap, but compared to the leather price, it's a bit of a bargain! Long term durability is eerything in terms of assessing vlaue ith this sort of thing, imo.

Specs
Midnight blue CXL FQHH
Black stitching and black buttons
Coin pocket and throat latch (hiding under collar)
Isle of Sky Tartan and blue sateen sleeves
Did a slight taper at the hem (original hem spec 19.5 inches reduced to 19 - equates to 1inch reduction in hem diameter)
Nickel hardware

I wanted to make a jacket in midnight blue ever since Ton’s Midnight blue HB. I wanted a cross zip but wanted it more vintage than biker. I was thinking of a STF BL with a D pocket initially but when the hooch hauler came out, the back style caught my eye. I went with a coin pocket instead of a D pocket to compliment the elaborate back since I felt a D pocket would be a bit much with that back. The added throat latch also gives it a vintage aviator feel imho.

Hopefully it fits as well as it looks and once I receive the jacket, I’ll post a more detailed post with fit pics.:)

Just got this Aero D-pocket Ridley off the Thurston Bros. featured stock page. Specs look pretty good to me but it might be a little snug. If it doesn't fit, I'll return it and back down the custom rabbit hole I go. Photos courtesy of the TB website.

Very excited, been looking at D-pockets for a while and this leather and lining really caught my eye so I went for it.

Just received this Thedi CR I bought from Wdawg in the classifieds.
I didn't really need one, but the measurements seemed exactly right, and I felt if I didn't take it I would regret it for a long time. So I pulled the trigger and am glad I did .
It's Thedi quality, and definitely one of my best fitting jackets.
Not wearing anything else since I received it.

AERO HIGHWAYMAN
Recieved my Aero Highwayman HH today in dark brown. More than happy. Had this custom made with extra sleeve length and slightly longer at the back.

I'm fortunate that I live nearby the premises where these are made and popped in personally to see Ken, Lydia and the team. I was made to feel very welcome and had a look around the premises and met the staff.
Great company ! Amazing quality. 20190409_150056-min.jpg
