How many new jackets do you have coming (and how many potential ones)?

This Aero blizzard from the sales page arrived Tuesday this week and today I had some time to take a couple of pictures on my way to the office.

It’s a size 40 made from Blackened Brown Vicenza, measures Pit to Pit: 24.25", Sleeve: 25.25", Back: 31.25", Shoulder: 19".

Sleeves are half an inch shorter than ideal for me, but I think it works. It’s definitely warm with the shearling shawl collar. It’s sized as an overcoat so I can easily wear it over a suit jacket if I want to. The cuffs are lined in corduroy which was a nice surprise. Overall, I’m happy with it and almost longing for weather that’s cold enough to wear it.

Yup, doing DAS through the same school I did my CBT with. I've got it pre-booked, but no dates fixed yet. That sort of depended how the Theory Test went today, but fortunately I passed. Then I wandered around the corner to have a nose around a local bike shop, and it turns out they're a dealer for Royal Enfield (which I thought were consigned to history). I checked over their Himalayan, which looked pretty ace to my ignorant eye.

Congratulations on the theory! Royal Enfield are still very much around - the Indian operation never stopped producing them. Slight modifications over time, but in essence still a 1950s bike. If ever the Big Win came in, the Classic 500 is on my list (I did quite fancy the sidecar version, but while prepared to go pillion, Herself has vetoed the idea of getting in a sidecar).

I only really wanted a bike for commuting, and have been drilling over the Mutt stuff. But almost everybody that I've talked to who knows bikes, has suggested I'd need something bigger than a 250 for what I'm after.

Dependswhat you're after, really. The 250 Mutt is good for motorway speeds (it has a top end of about 80, compared to the 125's 60), but a lot of folks who do heavy distance do seem to want a bigger bike.

Is it appropiate to say that I hate you? That looks so amazing that you made me pull the trigger on the Eastman Leather version...no way I will find another close to my size for cheaper specially now with the price hike from ELC. The black Luftwaffe version doesn't have the handwarmer pockets though, only the brown does.

Time to sell the 3-4 leather jackets before next 1st of November.

This jacket has been hanging on Ebay for a while, listed finished a while ago then it got relisted a couple times with the lowest price this time... only $420 shipping included which is basically $1000 less than a new one. I think I will give this one to my family and save it as a gift for my Birthday in November(Since I can't wear it anyway until winter) and that will save me money.

I can't wait to wear it with my navy Vespa during winter. It would also look gorgeous if I ever get a Black Douglas Motorcycle.

This would look fantastic on a Black Douglas. You really have to do it.... They're putting them out production now, too.... (125s and 240s, though I hear tell they're looking at doing a 400 as well).

That moleskin lining is nice, I love the petrol blue colour. ELC also do one of these in brown - only difference is handwarmers on the chest, but it's marketed as RAF or motorist or something, rather than Luftwaffe. I'm also tempted by the Wested Das Boot as a cheaper one to wear in place of a blazer as opposed to an overcoat (obvs needs a different sizing for each of those applications).

I've really taken to the look of these coats recently; so it actually is long enough to wear over a blazer? That does make them even more attractive. I'm tempted by one of these as a Winter jacket that's less of a bum freezer than my B3 / Irvins.

Had to try again, but yeah it is slightly longer than at least my suit jackets, so it covers them completely. The bum freezing is actually a big reason why I wanted a longer coat.

I know I often say this on Aero jackets and I swear it's got nothing to do with bias or me being a fanboi - but this simply is a stunning coat. The leather, details and especially the shade of shearling, it all just works so well.

I find it that slightly shorter sleeves (shorter than I'd normally prefer on a leather jacket) work better with a coat than long ones. It takes very little to make a coat look too big and sleeves are one thing that keep it in check. I think this Blizzard looks perfect on you.

It's a cool coat @torjord and i'll apply that to the sleeves too. This length makes you look like you're in command.

Thanks! I’ll stop worrying about the sleeves then. I had planned to order a custom blizzard with natural shearling and black Vicenza and when this showed up in my size it was close enough to what I had planned to try it out and I actually think it’s a winner and even better with the Irvin shearling.

I definitely understand that feeling, as I’ve experienced similar emotions when looking at some of the jackets posted here. “I was perfectly content with my jackets, and this guy had to go and post an awesome jacket and now I feel that I absolutely have to have a jacket like that in addition to my many jackets... aaaargh” something like that? With that in mind I'd be regularly pulling at them, pulling them down, to help that leather remember 'you do not shrink on me'. I've fought this war with a couple of jackets now and it's one that can definitely be managed, as leather can be made to stretch a bit

I don't think you'll have to worry too much with vic. I've found the memory creases are more a CXL thing. The vic I briefly owned didn't behave the same way. Jacket is absolutely beautiful @torfjord
I've envisioned one as well but keeping the built in vest except made of the same hide as the jacket. I think a Blizzard in brown CXL with a brown vest and shearling would look awesome, or black/black and white shearling. That said I've always favored brown mouton collars on m/c jackets and yours reminds me why!

Looks good but considering how little discount Aero offers on these sale page jackets, I'd return it and get a custom one with that extra sleeve length and what not for just a few GBP more.

Langlitz Cascade, heavy cow.

This is a 2016 jacket, pretty much unworn, like new condition. Probably one of the last of the heavy cowhide jackets as it's my understanding Langlitz stopped offering the heavy stuff recently. I was thinking about getting a Cascade from Langlitz when I'm in Portland next month, but this came up on ebay and the price was too good to pass up.

It fits like a glove. The pockets are leather lined. I wanted one with the pin stripes on the back, but this is otherwise exactly what I would have specced for a custom order.

Auction pics for now, fit pics when I can.

This probably does it for me for the year.

Beautiful !!!!!! The Cascade is a very special minimalist jacket. That leather is gorgeous. I bet the leather smells awesome too.

I haven't weighed it yet, but it's not excessively heavy. I'd say between 5-6 lbs. It could be their medium weight cow, which is still pretty heavy. I've owned about 7-8 Langlitz jackets, but that doesn't make me an expert. It's heavier /stiffer than most of those that I have handled firsthand.

Thank you. I have a mid weight sidewinder with cossack collar on the way and the listed shipment weight is 9 pounds.
Maybe that also includes the Langlitz hide conditioners though..

Looks good but considering how little discount Aero offers on these sale page jackets, I'd return it and get a custom one with that extra sleeve length and what not for just a few GBP more.

I dig consider doing that, but the price difference is at least 165 pounds, and the difference in sleeve length falls within the 0.5 inch difference. I would have speced a custom exactly half an inch longer in the sleeves, and it might have ended up the same length anyways. Plus, now I don’t have to wait. Hate the wait.

I don’t know, my Vicenza hooch hauler have pretty awesome sleeve creases... well well, even if that jacket has a lot of sleeve creases, the arms haven’t shortened that much so hopefully this’ll be true of the blizzard as well.

That idea sounds really cool, but I’d be a bit worried about the weight of such a coat, that’s a lot of cxl!

I've never owned a pigskin until now. I have two other Seattle Woolen jackets in horsehide. This looks to be a female jacket, but measurements were near a size 42 men's. Didn't buy it to wear anyway. I'll post more info when I have it in hand.

Got confirmed by Mike that my Vanson Mercury was made on 2016. So it is old competition weight cowhide, not the new one.
