Well, the Cal Leather came in today. Talk about disappointed. The odor was ridiculous. I don't live in a palace, but it ain't a shack, and my wife smelled the damn thing clear across the house. Smelled moldy and musty, like a dug up corpse. My wife yelled, asking if Ted Bundy had come to visit (I love her but what a smart a$$). It was also missing the side laces and the kidney panel was separating from the jacket. Needless to say a return has been initiated. Too bad too, it fit well, for the two seconds I could stand having it on.

Oh man what a bummer!! I know you had high hopes for that one. No way a few washes would de-Bundy it?? Woolite, Febreeze, baking-soda.
Just a thought.

Maybe, but I have tried different "odor eliminating" tricks on far-less smelling jackets and cannot claim a 100 percent success rate. This smell is downright offensive, not just a little odor. Plus, I am not sure that the stitching will hold up to the amount of washing it would take to bring this one back from the dead. I just want my loot back and I will continue the search. Or not, I like the Cal but it is not so different from my Vanson and Bates CHP-style jackets that i need to obsess about owning one.

Iron Heart Jackets are great.. whats the specs on this one?

It's the long discontinued 21 oz fleece lined trucker.

I honestly never thought I'd ever see one but I really, really lucked out. They've had a single run in 2013, at an insane price that was close to $700 and no plans to ever have them made again - at least according to IH. And then suddenly someone is selling a brand new jacket in exactly my size. It arrived with the tags still in the pocket.

I'll make a review of it, I hope. It's the best damn jean jacket I've ever seen.

I'd definitely return rather than try to clean it. If you tried and it didn't work, you've altered it and it's not returnable.

I’ve had good luck (dumb luck) with buying off-the-rack at Aero’s webstore; I just have to occasionally scan their sale page with an eye for the exact size-specs and for a look that raises my heart beat. And so today I found one that was listed for barely a day when I snatched it (probably from the poor guy in Shanghai fumbling with an expired credit card).

I thought I’d go off path and get a Type A-2 in Vicenza Italian Horse Hide in beautiful natural color. Why the F not? Next fall or even early summer should be interesting... maybe even fun. But for now I endure the inevitable scolding from the wife; it’s a balanced decision.

Just came. Don’t have time for pictures but here are a couple quick and dirty ones. Better pics to come. Fit seems good to me (bottom falls slightly below belt). Thoughts?
