Whoa, that’s a dandy looking jacket Terry. It maybe a 70’s but it’s sure got a 40’s vibe. I love these vintage button ups.I bought this jacket today on an offer from seller. I stumbled on it while searching for 70s leather jackets. The seller described it as 70s, the collar and pockets have a 70s vibe, but also a 40s vibe. Lack of a zipper really complicates dating a jacket.
Is it German? has a bit of that look too? The look also reminds me of Block jackets from the late 30s. The pockets that look like eyes.
It was not expensive so I took a shot at it. I like a good jacket mystery when I can afford it.
Looks like epulates are removed. (sorry for the spelling) Nice graining. Size 40/42

Here is the Sears Topline in the 1943 Sears catalog. Button jackets declined in numbers with the advent of the zipper. Button jackets have a return in this catalog probably due to war time shortages/fears. Listed with Capeskin or Suede in this listing. These were delivered today.

Did the East West shirt style arrive? Thoughts, pics please....Button ups like mine and the Topline are somewhat scarce. The Zipper just made Buttons a bit old fashioned. I think mine is from the early 40s. The lining, the cuffs, the style, the heavily grained leather. I can't get German out of my head.
No, weather delay. Should be here tomorrow.Did the East West shirt style arrive? Thoughts, pics please....

I snagged something similar. I’m going full suede I guess. Although this does have some finished bits. No, weather delay. Should be here tomorrow.
Silton? They made some nice jacket. This was a popular style that is hard to argue with.I snagged something similar. I’m going full suede I guess. Although this does have some finished bits.

Yes, mine is capeskin. Thank you very much for the info. I was surprised because FakeAlpha listed mine as Pony Hide but I knew they are wrong the moment I got my hands on it.Here is the Sears Topline in the 1943 Sears catalog.
