I have a deep blue St. Regis, if that is of any interest to you.
Thank you, Randy! I want to be conservative with my first homburg and stick to greys or browns. If I'm gonna own it, like Steve said, I'm gonna have to stay in my comfort zone for the first one. That's an awesome gesture, though, and I can't tell you how much I appreciate it! One day, I might even work my way up to a bowler. You rock them bowlers like a boss!

Thanks Phil. You should find a lot of greys. Browns can be had as well, but maybe not quite as many. Good luck with your search.

I need fall to get here quick so I can wear my new Silverbelly Gannon!

The “Royal Stetson Deluxe” homburg I received a few days ago is in almost minty condition.

I couldn’t help wearing it out for a test run simply because it has such a big brim (almost 2 5/8 inches before the curl), but that outing confirmed that I am not really a fan of the homburg look on me.

I had already planned to put this one in the closet as a collectible rather than a working hat, anyway.

That being said, this hat is one beautiful work of art. Everything about it from the felt to the sweatband to the liner to the ribbon work is such darn amazing quality.

No date anywhere that I could find but other loungers have dated the “Royal Stetson Deluxe” line from around 1946-1954 (one lounger actually has one with a date stamp of ‘54).

A really wonderful Homburg and in my opinion it looks great on you. But of course you have to feel comfortable. Maybe you let it lie a few days and try it again afterwards, whether the spark jumps over... ;)

That hat looks great on you, Nathan! You could easily be a Homburg guy! That hat is in immaculate condition and I’m a little jealous. If only it had been the next size up…..lol.

Thanks gentlemen, your kind remarks might have me reconsidering and perhaps time will endear the homburg look to me.

However, I don’t intend to wear this one much no matter what. I have taken 3-4 pristine vintage Stetsons and worn them down to bone. I believe that’s part of my recent turn back to Akubras - I wear hats hard and don’t want to regret it anymore.

Besides, truth be told it’s a little too tight and I would have to stretch it over my knee to make it fit and I don’t want to do that.

This is probably 21.5 inches round., so @hambone71 it would have been far too small for you.

Besides, truth be told it’s a little too much on the tight side and I would have to “break its bones” (that’s what I call it when I stretch a hat out over my knee, causing all that popping and snapping sound the first time) and then it would fit - but I can’t bring myself to do that to this one.

Well, I'm glad you got it. Enjoy it as part of your collection. I have one on the way.

Great WW2 era homburg! The colors and condition look great. It does look a bit small on you, and I’m glad you are not attempting to stretch it. The style certainly works for you if you can find one that fits well.

I do have two other nice homburgs and one beater if I want to go for the homburg look.

Here’s the nicest of the lot - a Dobbs fifteen. I had hoped this would fit Phil for his niece’s wedding but it’s definitely a size 7.
