And its brother in brown. Stra Barbisio extra lusso homburg in brown. Size 60 with the generous brim at 6,5cm and the crown 12 or 13cm high. I left it open crown because it could well work as an open crown hat as well. No labels in either one of these hats. Weighs 146 grams.

A real gem or better a "StraBarbisio" Bravo Stefan

Thanks, gentlemen. They will be going into the classifieds. If a trade is the idea it will have to be pretty special, because right now I need to get rid of a hundred or so hats to make some room :oops:
Getting rid of a 100 hats.....to make room........you sound like my wife!:eek::oops::rolleyes:
Actually she only occasionally comments on the hats and hat boxes.......truth be told...she COULD be right!;)

Superb overall quality and workmanship as expected. Also in Excellent :) condition. Interesting that there are two date stamps. Mayser started licensing and making Stetson Hats in 1954.

Long time no new hat posted, because there was always little time:
So this one is already longer in my possession

Wegener "Extra" in a wonderful dark blue (sorry for the bad photos)
size 58; bound brim at 5.5 cm; crown at the center dent at 10.5 cm
The medium weight felt is of great quality and wonderfully soft;
the synthetic lining has a blue contrasting piping;
only the sweat is of really inferior quality, composed of 2 pieces,
poorly glued together & sewn in and also already very brittle.
I think it is a early post war period hat - late 40's or very early 50's
and a look at Steve's homepage would confirm my suspicion,
because this gray Wegener "Extra" seems to be quite similar:

Good morning, Gents! I’ve seen some mighty fine looking homburgs in this thread.

I’ve never owned one as I’ve always felt they were a little too dressy for me. However, I am attending my niece’s wedding in November and I’m thinking a homburg will pair up nicely with a suit. Plus, it would be nice to add one to my modest collection for such occasions.

With all that being said, I am in search of a nice homburg in 7 1/8, preferably long oval, but I can make regular oval work. For this dressy occasion, I’m looking at shades of grey or brown. I’ve found some on fleabay but they’re either not the condition or proportions I’m after, or they’re a bit out of my price range. Just not a whole lot of selection in my size on the bay.

Maybe one of you fine gentlemen have one to sell or could possibly provide a link to a source for me to browse. I will post an ISO under classifieds as well.

Thank you for your time and hope all have a great Friday and weekend!

Everybody needs a homburg, Phil. I can rummage around a bit and see what I have. I think I at least still have this one:

That’s a beauty! Very similar to the one I posted an eBay photo of as an example in my ISO/WTB post in Classifieds. Minutes later @The Lost Cowboy bought it. It was one size too small for me.

But yes, I like yours very much! I would be interested in seeing more. Thank you, greatly!

Beware. I felt the same way about homburgs, but Stefan convinced me that I needed one. When it arrived, I discovered that everybody needs two.

I have a deep blue St. Regis, if that is of any interest to you.
