This is my one Homburg, of the Biltmore Imperial line. Its color makes it most suitable for parties and events, I think. Not an everyday wearer. Made in Canada.
Do you think so?
I have some doubts..homburg are elegant hats, too bold and colorful they are more for a fair
Perhaps not too colourful a ribbon but a slightly bold brim binding as on this Borsalino Lobbia.

Does the homburg always have a wide brim binding, Steve, or do some have the smaller binding?
I like the color of the Brodt's!! Excellent.
A very nice collection indeed, OldFashionedI think it's more common for a wide binding, but smaller ones do exist too. In my collection I have (5) wide and (1) thin:
Brodt's

Looks like that Lee has a bit of purple in the ribbon. Nice.
Thank you for your kind comment, good sir.Thank you for the kind sentiments. No where near as impressive as others here such as yourself, but it covers the wardrobe basics. I would like to add a Stetson St. Regis, maybe a lords hat, and probably a couple others with a bit more flair for color like the Lee.
Mainly red, but depending on the lighting and angle a purplish hue pops out. I have to thank @deadlyhandsome for this one.
That is one great catch, Stefan. There is so much to love about it that it's hard to know where to start.
Just goes to show, Hückels never disappoint.

Forgot to mention, I love the umbrella over the top hat logo [emoji4]

Steve, Daniele, thanks! I've seen similar felts especially from Ottmar Reich stingies, but those have a much more coarse feel to them. This one is soft as butter. Had to look for a while on @mayserwegener 's site for yours, Daniele. Found it in the end, but didn't remember seeing it before. It is the exact hat though. Cool!Complimenti Stefan!
I had the same hat, but it was a little too tight for my head, so it is now in the huge Steve collection, maybe he will show up
Very very nice, Pellie. Looks like an early one. I like the sweatband stamp with the beaver on it.My black homburg from Cauly's.
Does anyone knows what 'pur poil' means? View attachment 181576 View attachment 181577 View attachment 181578 View attachment 181579 View attachment 181580 View attachment 181581
I remember that one. Very uncommon one, Steve. Very nice colour on it and the narrow ribbon is a nice change. My 1930s Lord's hat.
If yours is a Lord's hat, and it could well be, then the brim has flattened. Give it some steam and curl it as you will.
A Lord's hat is more or less a Homburg without a bound brim.

That classic style and colour offers loads of possibilities.Perhaps not too colourful a ribbon but a slightly bold brim binding as on this Borsalino Lobbia.

Stefan, Yes the same model. A gift from Daniele!Steve, Daniele, thanks! I've seen similar felts especially from Ottmar Reich stingies, but those have a much more coarse feel to them. Beautiful hat and love the color Daniele.
Lobbia Borsalino Qualità Superiore size is 6 or 7 3/8 US
A perfect homburg in a grey shades, with a contrasting ribbon in a deep grey, brim ribbon of the same color of felt
The proportions are as follow: curled and bounded brim at 5 cm. Crown at 11 cm.
Felt of medium weight, color is "Bario", Ribbon is "Asphalt" made in 1986
Excellent conditions, it has two stars on the sweatband, but no name where it was sold
A classic homburg in a very elegant shape and colors
The logo on the liner is the coat of arms for the UK, so that would suggest Cauly's is British. Is that an otter or beaver above the name Cauly's on the sweatband?
Nice catch for €25 btw, Pellie.

You're right about it being a ??? hat, Matt. The coat of arms is not a very good imitation. Could be from almost anywhere at the mo. I sure love a hat mystery [emoji4]You're right, of course, Steve, it's the British coat of arms.
But it's not quite that or rather an "antique" version:
On the one hand the Irish Harve is an old version still as a "woman" (only until 1937).
On the other hand the coat of arms is normally held by a lion and a unicorn - here 2 lions.
After WW II there were probably also German hat companies, which used a more or less correct GB coat of arms - to the hint of English quality....
I stumbled across Canada because of the French imprint on the sweatband and because of the French(Italian) (and European/German) hat size designations in combination to the Canadian-British history. But I guess that's wrong.
It may also be a British hat for another market - but I don't think so, because one would never use a slightly wrong coat of arms.
From my point of view, it's more of a ??? hat (maybe even German???) from the 50s that is supposed to imitate an English/British hat? I don't quite understand...
Does Steve know the Cauly's?
