Hey Steve that could be one of my favorites too!One of my favourite Homburgs. I just love the way how a hat can be made in Manchester back in the 40s/50s, sold for the Finnish market, be bought second hand in Holland, then end up with me in Denmark, a Yorkshireman from the other side of the Pennines of that Battersby Homburg [emoji4]

Thanks, Bowen [emoji4]Hey Steve that could be one of my favorites too!
Great proportions!
I like to be able to see the brim when i look up.

That colour combination cannot be beaten. Gorgeous hat, Steve.I don't believe I've posted this one before. I bought it from Daniele two or three years back. Thankfully, it wasn't his size.
Carlton, French. Ca. early 1950s.
I love the dimensions on this one and the feel of the felt.
Long live the Homburg Nation [emoji4]

Thanks, Stefan. It is indeed one of my top 3 favourites. Then again, there are at least 10 Homburgs in my top 3 [emoji4]That colour combination cannot be beaten. Gorgeous hat, Steve.
Strange that I still feel a bit of jealousy when I see that hat! Unlikely that I'll ever find one again. Belongs to you and with you, Steve. How lucky can you be to own this ca. 1950s Lembert Homburg and are spoilt for choice as to whether to wear it with a pinch or without? Answer, of course, very lucky.

Thanks, Stefan. I'm so glad I finally pulled the trigger on it. Not strange at all you feeling sad about having sold it. It's a beauty and one of a kind. If it's any consolation, I think of you whenever I wear it, your exquisite taste and understanding for hats, and I thank my lucky stars you pushed it my way.Strange that I still feel a bit of jealousy when I see that hat! That has a very nice shape to it, Stefan. Don't get me started on the colour [emoji4]To make sure the homburg nation can win some more residents, besides Max and Bowen, here's some inspiration (maybe).
VEB Vereinigte Hutwerke Guben Luxus in dark blue. No label inside the hat, but either a 56 or a 57 because it fits me very well. Brim at 6cm and crown 10cm at the center dent and it weighs 148 grams. These VEB hats aren't always of the best quality, but this one has an excellent hand to the felt. Did I mention it is blue?

Real nice, Stefan. See, no matter how many black Homburgs one has in ones collection, that one would have to join it.Let's do another, to win over some more future residents.
Borsalino Gulaela in Nero. Size 57, with the brim at 6cm and the crown at 10,5cm at the center dent. I have a few Gulaela hats, but this is the first in the Qualitá Extra Superiore. Weighs only 118 grams. Nice as the VHG is: this hat runs rings around that one in every way.
Interesting is the "exportazione vietata" (export forbiddden) on the sweatband. First time I've seen this.

Thanks, Steve. True words: I didn't even have to think about it.Real nice, Stefan. See, no matter how many black Homburgs one has in ones collection, that one would have to join it.
