Just delivered today... Needs some reshaping love, the center dent is completely wonky. The color is darker than I had expected from the photos I saw before buying it, but I really dig the charcoal gray with green undertones. It’s actually really close in color to my Bluegrass Green Campdraft on a not-so-sunny day. Is it weird to not find any labels or tags under the sweat? Very nice St. Regis, interesting color. This hat may have gone in for some work sometime in it's life and the existing tags may have not survived. Just one theory.

Picked up a few hats this saturday. Two of them homburgs. Had to leave a few what could have been nice finds behind as well (a few pre-war Hückel-hat, that were just to bad a shape). Anyway. Wegener homburg in grey, size 56. Later model, probably seventies. More taper and rounded form to the 10,5 cm crown and a shorter brim (5,5cm).

Another one of the saturday pick-up. Hückel (Welheim production) in grey (Mercur grau on the inside sweatband) in a size 57. Made for Globus. There were several Hückel homburg hats in the vintage store I got this one from and I believe three of them were pre-war. All of them in black and too damaged or soiled to bring along unfortunately. This one is nice though. Brim at 5cm and crown at 10cm at the pinch. Liner is still stitched in, so my guess would be early to mid-sixties.

Very nice hat, Stefan. What does the D.G.M. mean on the size tag?
Jim, thank you. I confess I don't really know for sure. My best guess (had to look it up) is it stands for Deutsche Gesellschaft Materialkunde (German Society for Material Science) which exists since 1919 as an institution for combining scientific knowlegde about materials with practical use in manufacture and business. Steve will know if that is indeed what it stands for on this label.

This wasn’t what I was looking for, but I’m a sucker for long hairs. This Biltmore Peluche is on its way:

Very nice, Deadly. Biltmore knows how to make a long hair. That particular model In a Canadian made Biltmore homburg is hard to find.

Just pickup this up, it’s got a sloppy Fedora bash in it but I think it qualifies for the H nation. Moore’s of London from 1959. I love the union stamp under the sweat.... It literally looks and feels like an old postage stamp. I bet there’s a story or explanation there...
I love the look and condition, but I have now learned the hard way on this that England has or had it’s own sizing. If pads under the sweat don’t make this fit, it might be hitting the classified section.
